My paintings are reflections and witnesses of my multicultural nomad life experience. I left my native country more than 20 years ago and, since then, I have had the unique opportunity to live all over the world. All the wonderful people I met and cultures I embraced along the way shaped me in who I am. I also got to understand that I will never find a definite version of myself, because the state

of permanent reinvention is the only constant in my being. This continuous change and reinvention, and the reflective process associated with it, is what you can experience through my work

Grateful for everyone who joined us last Saturday for the opening of Afinidades,
curated by Júlio Dolbeth, at the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis.

It is a true honour to have one of my pieces included in this exhibition, alongside so many talented artists. The opening was a wonderful celebration of art, conviviality, and dialogue, offering the opportunity to discover the many ways each artist reinterpreted a beautiful object from the museum’s own collection: a 17th-century English mug (caneca inglesa).

Afinidades is an initiative of the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis in partnership with the Associação Quarteirão Criativo, sponsored by Super Bock Group, with the support of the Dr. José de Figueiredo Circle – Friends of the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this project possible, and to all who came to celebrate with us. Your presence made the evening truly special. .pt .pt

Just some days to Basel. 🤍

Arenas will be at Volta Basel, June 16–20, presented by AC Latin Art, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this series to an international stage.

Curator Inés Deveaux wrote it perfectly: change isn’t rupture, but possibility. That’s what I hope these works hold; a pause, an invitation to feel the poetry of what transforms rather than what stays fixed.

If you’ll be in Basel, come say hello. And if not, follow along here. I’ll be sharing from the fair all week.

Sand, seawater, pigment, patience.
I just one week, pieces from Arenas will be at Volta Basel with AC Latin Art. Each painting carries something literal within it: grains of sand gathered from the beaches of Portugal, embedded into the canvas. Nature didn’t just inspire this series, she co-created it.
There’s a deeper thread too. The embroidery woven into some of the works traces back to my grandmothers, hours of slow craft, shared stories, and a creative language passed through the hands of women in my family long before I ever called myself an artist.
Arenas is about what changes us, what we carry, and what we choose to transform rather than lose.

I’m thrilled to share that works from my series Arenas will be presented at Volta Basel, June 16–21, with AC Latin Art, one of the most vibrant art fairs celebrating artists on an international stage.

Arenas was born from my years of living by the sea in Portugal, a quiet, ongoing dialogue between nature and canvas, where seawater, natural pigments, and sand collected from Portuguese shores co-create each piece. What began as a personal discovery became a meditation on change, adaptation, and the beauty of impermanence.

If you’re in Basel this June, come find them in person. I will be delighted to shares these new works with you!

This weekend, my work travels further than I ever could alone—landing in San Francisco with AC Latin Art at Booth B19.

There’s something quietly extraordinary about this: that a piece created under Portuguese skies can cross oceans and find new meaning in a different city, with different people. Art has its own way of moving—beyond geography, beyond language—connecting places that might otherwise never meet.

Grateful to share a fragment of my sky, my light, my sense of home, with San Francisco.
