We really do still need you.
Here at Associacao Obrigado Bombeiros, we have been in Lockdown too. The vast majority of the funds that we are able to raise come from Events. Last year we raised over €12,500 for the Bombeiros of Silves & Lagoa from the May Music, July Golf day, September Auction and Quiz Nights all of which are a challenge to run in 2020.
So far, we have had to cancel our May Music Event and have Postponed our Golf Day to hopefully later in the Autumn and we await any changes to restrictions before we can confirm the September auction which we hoped to hold at the Bombeiros in Silves on 26th September.
The big fire the other week out West was a reminder to us all that Viruses or not, nature will still do its worst if allowed to and although our funds from 2019 were fully distributed, there are still equipment needs and repairs to be done from time to time, not to mention getting ready for the summer season with vital supplies.
The money that we have raised in the past has largely been augmented by very generous and gratefully received donations from businesses in the area. Either with sponsorship or items that we can auction or raffle.
Clearly in 2020 businesses may not be in a financial position to help us so much as in the past.
This is why, We Still Need You.
We hope to be able to announce something for a music event soon. Perhaps a virtual event and then we hope we will be in a position to do more after the summer.
