Today we meet at the equinox. A moment where day and night are equals.

From here, we slowly begin our descent into the darker half of the year.

A long time ago, I decided to dance with my darkness.
To allow her to shed her light on herself.

Not to get rid of the uncomfortable parts, or to always try to move towards the light, but to become curious about what lives in the dark too.

I find there is something deeply empowering in turning towards the things we might usually want to avoid. In allowing ourselves to feel them, rather than immediately trying to change them.

And the more space we make for the darkness, the more space there seems to be for everything else too. For joy, pleasure, aliveness, depth.

This is part of the eternal dance of opposites. Not choosing one over the other, but allowing both to exist. Embracing all parts of life and ourselves.

Slowly bringing everything into harmony again and again.

Our hands are our point of touch with the outside world.

They create, they hold, they let go. They carry the traces of what we have shaped.

Hand tattoos can be such a powerful reminder. And a claim of our authenticity. Of showing ourselves to this world.

Because you can’t hide your hands.

A glance at your hands in the middle of your everyday life can become a small reminder of what you have promised yourself.

These tattoos, the most visible ones to the outside world, are also often the ones that are most for ourselves.

Let’s talk about agency.

Have you ever ignored your own intuition?

Have you ever said yes even when something inside of you wasn’t there?

This is something I care about deeply in my practice.

A yes only means something if your no is just as welcome.

I’m not here to convince you. I’m here to help you listen more closely to yourself.

And this is also why I don’t really think of myself as an artist putting art on someone’s body.

I feel much more like I’m helping your intentions, that are already there, take shape. Finding it, translating it, bringing it into the physical.

I want you to feel empowered. Empowered to say no and to question something. To not simply go along with a design because the artist seems more certain.

I once even got the advice from a fellow tattoo artist not to send the design beforehand, but to show it to the client just before the session.

So they wouldn’t have time to object.

That really touched me.

Because I want the opposite.

I want you to have time to sit with a design. To feel into it and to come back with questions, changes, doubts. To be able to say a yes that actually feels like a yes.

Your tattoo is going to live on your body.

I want the decision to feel like yours.

A prayer of self devotion.
A prayer of love.

I pray we dare to love ourselves fully. Each edge and washed out corner of what we are.

Because only when we can embrace our full being, our body, mind and spirit, our darkness and light, our joy and grief, can we fully stand in our power, for ourselves and others.

Only then can we grasp the full magnitude of what we are in this world.

Only then can we recognize and feel, deep into our bones, our oneness with each being.
The interconnectedness of all things.
The beauty and infinity of love we carry in our hearts.

May we move and dance through this beautiful life, practicing the grounded openness of our hearts and the coming home into our skin.

With love and devotion,
Hanna

Recently I have been asking myself again,

What is moving me deeply in life?
Why am I here?
What do I want to bring into this world?

And the answer is,

To feel deeply alive.

Fully present with all seasons of life.
Trusting the waves, the ebbs and the flows.
Allowing myself to be fully moved by life.

It fills my heart to share that aliveness.

To share the full authentic expression of our being.
The beauty we all carry in our pains and joys.

To support others to step into their power and magic.
To recognize themselves as the amazing beings they are.

I deeply believe we can change this world when we remember how powerful we are. When we stop making ourselves smaller and bring more of us into this world.

If we keep our hearts alive and grounded in these intense times, we have immense power to heal and transform this world.

When we embrace each part of life,
the fullness and the emptiness, the ease and the difficulty, the inhalation and exhalation.
And deeply devote ourselves to being alive.

I offer this prayer from my heart.
May it inspire you to step into your full being.
To trust yourself.
To trust life and its movements.

With love
Hanna

A prayer for balance.
For softness without losing strength.
For grounding.
For coming home to yourself.

This is more than a beautiful ornament.
It is a reminder of your own essence.
Of what you want to call in.
Of what you choose to embody in this life.

Tattoos are a relationship.

For me, the moment you step into that relationship, something begins to move.

Excitement.
Doubts.
Resistance.
Clarity.

I don’t see these as obstacles to getting tattooed. I see them as valuable part of the process.

What becomes possible when we, as tattoo artists, know how to support people through that process? When we put our own ideas aside and truly listen to what is moving within and between us?

Every session is a practice in presence for me.
Every client is a teacher.

That’s why I send every design beforehand. I want you to have time to live with it. To notice what it brings up. To discover whether it truly feels like yours.

I encourage honest conversations.
And I genuinely want you to say no if that is what your body, mind or intuition is telling you.

A tattoo will stay with you for a lifetime.

I don’t believe my role is to decide what is right for you.

The most important thing I can offer isn’t only technical skill.

It’s creating a space where your body, your mind and your intuition all have a voice before anything becomes permanent.

Because you are the most important in this journey.

For the biggest part of human history, tattoos were rarely just decoration.

Across continents and centuries, people marked their bodies to cross life’s thresholds, to seek protection, to honour their ancestors, and in some traditions, to accompany them and guide them the way beyond death.

Every culture understood tattooing in its own way. Their beliefs were different, their symbols were different, and their ceremonies were different. But again and again, one idea appears:

The body was a place where meaning could be made visible. Where intentions could be embodied. Where an inner commitment became something that could be lived.

I don’t believe in copying ancient traditions or borrowing ceremonies that don’t belong to us.

I do believe in building an honest relationship with the wisdom they carry. To listen before we borrow. To understand before we adapt.

I believe we can create sacred thresholds of our own. Practices that grow from our own lives, are shaped by genuine relationship, and give form to what matters most.

What happens when we recognize the deeper potential of tattooing?

What happens if we step into a more sacred relationship with them?

Deep gratitude to this beautiful tribe of humans here in Portugal.
Such a sweet feeling to share this work and journey with friends.

These sessions are always deep and intimate, and knowing each other beforehand is not a requirement for the depth we go into.
Very often we meet as strangers and leave as friends.

I’ve met so many wonderful people through this work. It’s a gift to share these soul-level experiences, again and again.
Thank you all for your trust and love.

Much Love
Hanna
