COLOUR ON THE STREET Competition

How does colour shape the way you see the street?

Together with Irys, we’re inviting you to share photographs in which colour takes centre stage: drawing attention to a fleeting moment, revealing an unexpected connection or creating a striking composition.

The top three photographs will be produced as gallery-quality prints and exhibited at Lisbon Street Photo Fest. The overall winner will also receive a signed copy of Street Safari by Alan Schaller, available to collect at the festival or shipped afterwards.

The colourful images featured in this post were taken by our team’s own Gil Ribeiro.

You’ve got until September 9 to enter.

Join us for a special screening of I Am Martin Parr, a documentary offering privileged access to the world of one of the most recognisable and influential figures in street photography.

Following the screening, director Lee Shulman will join us to share the process behind the making of the film, along with stories and reflections from filming and working with Martin.

Photographer and journalist Kevin Wolf joins us for a talk exploring how a photographic project can grow from intuitive observations into a story that works narratively, emotionally, and visually.

Drawing from his own long-term practice, Kevin will share how connections begin to emerge between photographs, how experimentation can shape a project over time, and how that process helped him get closer to his own visual language.

🎤 Our next guest for the Spotlight Talks is LA-based photographer Daniel Postaer, working between street photography and fine art.

Through long-term projects in San Francisco and China, Daniel’s work brings together photographs made in public space with a thoughtful and personal approach to place, memory, and change. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Lisbon Street Photo Fest and hearing more about his practice.

Join Alan Schaller and Irys for a special photo meet-up through the streets of Lisbon, as part of Lisbon Street Photo Fest 2026.

We’ll meet at the entrance square of our festival venue (FBAUL) before heading out together towards Terreiro do Paço.

Known for his distinctive black-and-white street photography, Alan Schaller will join us for an informal afternoon of hanging out, talking photography and meeting other photographers. This isn’t a workshop or a structured photowalk, but a chance to spend some time together, exchange ideas and explore Lisbon, with the option to take a few pictures along the way.

The meet-up is presented in partnership with Irys Photos, Supporting Partner of Lisbon Street Photo Fest 2026.

🎤 Join us for a Spotlight Talk with

Working across editorial assignments and long-term personal projects, Moroccan photographer Imane Djamil creates rich narratives that move between documentary and fiction. Her work has been published by The New York Times, Le Monde, Bloomberg, and Reuters, while her personal projects explore themes of memory, place, migration, and identity.

Reminder: Imane will also be leading a half-day, hands-on workshop focused on turning a photographic project into a strong proposal for grants, residencies, festivals, and other opportunities. Link in bio to know more.
