To all the fans who journeyed with us—and to every musician who lent their soul and sound to The Rooms:
The Rooms began as a collective project in suburban Lisbon—a living, breathing experiment in collaboration, shaped by countless creative exchanges.
For many years, we made our mark in Macau, China. We gathered local and international artists in a room high above the city’s docks, where industrial edges met urban dreams.
Two and a half years ago, I returned to Lisbon. The Rooms came full circle, closing the cycle where it all began—but with new experiences, new voices, and the weight of stories from across continents.
We built an audiovisual collective—a network of interconnected individuals, woven together by cultural fire, history, language, music, dance, film, and art.
Our story is cinematic. A makeshift territory that sheltered multitudes.
But this change isn’t just about a name. It’s about letting go of something deeply intertwined with the past—one that belonged not only to me but also to Mafalda Matos, who was more than just a voice on the project.
She was the first witness, the sounding board, the one who challenged, refined, and shaped ideas until they became songs. Almost a co-writer in spirit, if not in credit.
Now, Olyssipians emerge. Not as a continuation, but as something forged in the quiet collapse of what once stood. The falling, the rising, dwelling between doubt and inevitability. A metamorphosis. This is the reboot.
Thank you for your unwavering support, your passion, and your belief in our music and vision.
