Azores Recommendations 🌱🌻🗻

As promised, here are a few of our favourite places, hikes and tips from our recent trip to the Azores:

PLACES
📍Parque Terra Nosta - botanical gardens & thermal baths
📍Sensi Azores Nature & Spa - Incredible hotel & restaurant (wish we had known about this place and stayed here!)
📍Ponta da Ferraria - geothermal hot springs next to Atlantic sea - AKA a free ocean spa!
📍Caldeiras das Furnas - Steaming pools in the centre of town with boiling, bubbling water coming straight from the earth
📍Santa Barbara Beach - Famous black sand beach with great beach bar at the top where you can rent surf boards, eat & drink

HIKES
📍Lagao das Sete Cidades - 20.9km - 5 hours
📍Lagao do Fogo - 9.1km - 3 hours

There are SO many others but these are the big ones we did. We always use for our hikes and I’ve screenshotted the exact routes we did 🌱🗻

TIPS
- You will need to rent a car, we used Guerin and they were brilliant!
- The weather is unstable so be prepared for blazing sun and then downpours of rain! Wear layers so you are not too hot or wet at any point!
- The best time of year to visit is from May - September. June is when the famous hydrangeas are in bloom (we missed them by a few weeks 💔)
