Poul Henningsen PH Louvre Olive Green Pendant Light Louis Poulsen Danish Vintage

This exceptional PH Louvre pendant by Poul Henningsen is a rare sculptural example of Danish lighting design at its most architectural. Developed as part of Henningsen’s lifelong exploration of glare-free illumination, the Louvre model is distinguished by its complex, tiered shade system, designed to precisely control and soften light through layered diffusion rather than concealment.

Executed here in a striking olive green lacquered metal, the pendant departs from the more commonly encountered white versions, giving it a distinctly mid-century modern presence with strong period character. While standard production favoured neutral finishes, a small number were manufactured in alternative colours—such as green, yellow, and other variants—typically for public or institutional settings (including schools), or produced as special commissions.

These colourways were never widely distributed and remain comparatively rare.
The concentric horizontal blades are carefully proportioned around a central cylindrical aluminium core, allowing light to escape gently in all directions while eliminating direct glare. When illuminated, the fixture produces a warm, atmospheric glow, with subtle reflections between the shades enhancing depth and visual rhythm.

Manufactured by Louis Poulsen in Denmark, this piece reflects the brand’s uncompromising standards of metalwork and finish. The original white ceiling canopy is present, and the lamp retains its authentic construction details, including the stamped Louis Poulsen mark, confirming originality. The form remains crisp and well balanced, with the olive green surface showing only light, age-appropriate wear consistent with careful use.

Highly sculptural even when unlit, the PH Louvre functions equally as lighting and object. It is ideal for collectors seeking an architectural focal point above a dining table, in a stairwell, or within a minimalist interior where its layered geometry can be fully appreciated.

Reggiani attributed Italian Brass Marble Floor Lamp with Planters, Italy, 1970s

This remarkable floor lamp, attributed to Reggiani, Italy, 1970s, is an exceptional example of sculptural lighting that merges design and nature. The piece features three arched brass-plated arms, each terminating in a dome-shaped shade. Suspended below the shades by brass chains are matching cylindrical planters, designed to hold small plants that bask under the light source. The result is a striking dialogue between warm illumination and organic growth, transforming the lamp into a living installation.

The structure is anchored by a substantial circular base in white-veined marble, which adds both visual weight and stability. The interplay of polished brass and cool stone reflects the sophisticated material combinations for which Italian lighting of the period is celebrated. When lit, the shades diffuse a soft atmospheric glow while accentuating the greenery below, making the lamp both functional and sculptural.

Attributed to Reggiani, a manufacturer renowned for bold, architectural lighting forms, this lamp encapsulates the modernist ethos of harmony between design, material, and life. With its rare integration of planters, it stands as a unique conversation piece—equally at home in a collector’s interior or as a statement object in contemporary living spaces.

Albano Poli Amethyst Murano Glass Aluminum Sconce Italian Brutalist 1960s

A sculptural wall sconce by Albano Poli for Poliarte, Italy, 1960s — a striking example of mid-century Italian lighting where art meets architecture. The design centers around a brushed aluminum backplate adorned with thick Murano glass cubes in vivid amethyst purple, arranged in perfect symmetry. At the core, a cross of textured frosted glass surrounds a mirrored chrome sphere that captures and distorts its environment, creating a dynamic interplay of light and reflection.

When lit, the sconce emits a soft amber glow that radiates through the frosted center and gently highlights the deep violet tones of the surrounding glass. It transforms from a static object into an atmospheric presence, making it both functional and sculptural.

Poli’s work for Poliarte stands at the intersection of Brutalism and Venetian glass tradition—bold, tactile, and unmistakably Italian. This piece works beautifully on its own or as part of a modular arrangement, offering rhythm and depth to any wall it graces.

Equipped with a single E14 socket and fully functional. Excellent vintage condition with beautiful patina and no cracks to the glass.

A rare and collectible example of Italian lighting design at its most artistic and architectural.

Abraham Palatnik Modernist Rooster Sculpture in Multicolor Acrylic Resin, Brazil 1970s

A striking example of Brazilian modernist artistry, this sculptural acrylic rooster by Abraham Palatnik (1928–2020) dates from the 1970s and showcases the artist’s signature technique of embedding vibrant, kinetic patterns within transparent resin. Part of Palatnik’s iconic “Arte Programada” series, this piece is both decorative object and optical artwork—its sinuous internal lines shift dynamically with the light and the viewer’s perspective.

Rendered in rich black, ivory, red, green, and yellow tones, the surface is alive with concentric waveforms and pointillist markings that evoke both organic movement and programmed precision. The rooster—one of Palatnik’s most beloved forms—stands in perfect mid-century poise, a fusion of craft, color, and playfulness. The base bears the artist’s etched initials, a testament to its authenticity.

Palatnik, a pioneer of technological and kinetic art in Latin America, was a key figure in Brazil’s concrete and neo-concrete movements. His resin animals have become highly collectible globally, especially rare examples like this one in pristine condition.

A joyful yet cerebral piece, this rooster brings a sense of wonder and rhythm to any interior. Perfect for collectors of mid-century modern design, Latin American art, or simply those drawn to the hypnotic beauty of form in motion.

Sergio Mazza Chioccio White Aluminum Chrome Table Lamp Quattrifolio 1970s Italy

A sculptural and rare lighting object, the Chioccio table lamp was designed by Sergio Mazza for Quattrifolio in the 1970s and manufactured in Rozzano, Milan. Named after the Italian word for “snail,” Chioccio is a design that wraps light in a soft, directional glow, blending minimalism with futuristic elegance.

The lamp’s construction features a cylindrical chrome-plated brass base perforated with a ring of round holes, adding subtle rhythm and ventilation. A pair of chrome rods support the dramatic, asymmetrically flared “witch hat” style aluminum shade, painted white to enhance light diffusion. The interplay between the polished base and the matte shade gives this piece its unique visual balance—elegant, playful, and boldly architectural.

Fitted with a Bakelite E27 socket, the lamp supports any standard bulb. A chromed bulb is ideal, complementing both the reflective base and the geometric purity of the overall design.

This is the only version of the Chioccio ever produced—its smaller sibling, the Pulcino, was the only alternate scale made by Quattrifolio.

In excellent original condition, this rare piece exemplifies the intellectual clarity of Mazza’s design language and is a standout collectible in the canon of 1970s Italian lighting.
