Mais uno +1 curating, research, and project collective This collective emerges from a common will to:

1.

mais uno +1 is a curatorial, project, and research collective that acts in search of the transformative power of art through the creation of incremental relationships/ecosystems between artists, communities, and territories. Complement and create new alternatives for the institutional contemporary art circuits;

2. Expand art practice to territories and groups that are usually not included in the

cultural scene;

3. Research, create and try new, more free and sustainable, models for the art market;

4. Reflect on the active role of art practice as a continuous project that creates new imaginaries and communal dynamics, and answers to the current and future enviormental and urban challenges;

5. Develop more accessible structures for researching, documenting, and sharing knowledge (creative commons);

6. Diversify and enrich the socio-cultural tissue of a territory, and its mutual support;

7. Create more horizontal and democratic art systems based on collaborative and transdisciplinary relationships;

8. Foster aggregating, experimental, emancipated, and critical art practices.

We are happy to invite you to our this year exhibition of the residency last summer PLAY(THE)GROUND on Friendship & Collaboration.
The exhibition will take place from 6–23 June 2026 across two exhibition spaces, accompanied by a public programme throughout the two weeks.
Space 1 - Casa Comunitária in Quinta da Fonte
Quinta da Fonte is a neighbourhood, in which one of the residencies took place last Summer. There, in Casa Comunitária, we will host a group exhibition of the works of the artists in collaboration with residents and the community and will also invite to a program with different activities.
Space 2 - Picoas Metro Station Project Space
At the Picoas Metro Station Project Space, we will present a few artworks developed during last year’s residency alongside artworks from previous residencies, creating connections between different moments and people.
In the residency Friendship & Collaboration in PLAY(THR) GROUND artists did residencies in Talude, Quinta da Fonte, Quinta do Mocho and Zambujal. These residencies should not only be seen as artistic approached, but as community and collective practices. In times where many people are left alone with their struggles, it is important to create spaces of exchange and care between each other, between neighbours, artists, communities and shared, but also different, realities.
Through conversations, artworks, gatherings and collective moments, we continue to ask how we can live, support, and imagine together.
Programme will include activities in the Picoas Space, Quinta da Fonte & Talude and will be pusblished soon, alongside with the participating artists.

Nothing here stays fixed.
Figures appear and disappear. Buildings dissolve into water. Light reshapes streets, cars, people, and architecture before they can fully settle into form. Even the shadows seem uncertain of where they belong.

- This exhibition is no longer this exhibition. -

An ongoing exhibition in constant transformation: works will leave, others will enter, images will shift places, and new relationships will continuously emerge. There is no definitive version — only temporary states of the same flow.

✨ Opening May 25 ✨
📍Picoas Metro Station — Exit Rua Tomás Ribeiro, Lisbon

Opening hours:
25/05–27/05 → 10am–7pm
28/05–03/06 → 3pm–7pm

Nada aqui permanece fixo.
Figuras aparecem e desaparecem.

EN

Oriana Pérez, a Venezuelan visual artist, presents her work in Lisbon for the first time — a practice between painting and collage where body, territory, and identity are constantly reconfigured.

Engaging the context of the Venezuelan diaspora, the work reflects on forced migration, proposing a suspension of nationalist narratives and approaching identity as an unstable, relational field.

Based in Brazil for the past decade, Oriana is currently preparing their next solo exhibition at Paço das Artes.

STILL DOWN HERE

✨ We are happy to announce that we are celebrating 2 years of our PLAY(THE UNDER)GROUND project space located in PICOAS Metro station! ✨

On 13.03.2026 we invite you to pass by our project space and take a look at our LOOP TUBE video screening by means of spatial adaptation.

Spatial adaptation in urban studies refers to the process of adjusting the physical design, land use and infrastructure of cities, villages, areas to enhance their resilience to the impacts of climate change. It is a proactive, spatial planning approach that alters the built environment often through nature-based solutions or structural changes to improve their safety and livability. However spatial adaptation at the very substance of its resilience, can be physical, emotional or political. We want to dive deeper into the way  bodies adapt to space in both their physical, intellectual or non-human dimensions. It’s about persisting within concrete structures and being in environments that were not designed to hold us, that cultivate our resilience.
