A 6ª edição da Bienal de Arte Têxtil Contemporânea _Contextile 2022, realizar-se-á a partir de Setembro até Novembro de 2022 na cidade de Guimarães, habitando os seus diferentes espaços culturais e artísticos, de domínio público e/ou privado, com o apoio e parceria do Município de Guimarães, entre outros.

The 6th edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Textile Ar

TEXTILE TALKS – Final Programme

The Contextile 2026 Textile Talks will take place on September 6 and 7, returning to a two-day format for the exchange of ideas, projects, and research across textiles, art, and other disciplines. Under the theme “BY A THREAD”, this edition will feature six sub-themes linked to the Contextile 2026 concept.

We invite all interested individuals to participate in these talks. The event will feature partners and guests from Contextile 2026, as well as artists and speakers selected through this call.

Mathieu Fecteau develops a multifaceted practice spanning contemporary art, traditional craft and public space. Recognised by several awards in his home country, he combines technical mastery across diverse manual skills, stone restoration, carpentry and weaving, with a strong commitment to community mediation, using artistic workshops as tools of inclusion for the widest possible audiences.

SINOPSE
“Tric-O-Vent” is a rudimentary textile machine built from natural and recycled materials: a windmill that knits as the wind blows, recording its force in textile form, the windier the day, the longer the knit.

Dedicada ao tema POR UM FIO, a CONTEXTILE 2026 apresenta-nos, entre 5 de setembro e 29 de novembro, um programa que contempla várias exposições, residências artísticas, workshops, performances, intervenções no espaço público, conversas e outros momentos que aproximam artistas, parceiros e públicos, promovendo o diálogo direto e encorajando novas formas de criação, pensamento e reflexão. Serão 85 dias dedicados à arte contemporânea e à cultura têxtil, que prometem fazer da edição deste ano a mais dinâmica até à data.
