[EN] The official Black Box Fest 2026 T-shirt has arrived!

This year's design is inspired by Mumadona Dias, the richest and most powerful countess of the 10th century. At a time when women rarely ruled in their own right, she took control of the County of Portugal, founded Guimarães, and commissioned the construction of the iconic castle that still stands today.

You can purchase the T-shirt as part of a pack or add it to your previous order. Just get in touch with us, and we'll provide all the details.

VENUE AND LAST BANDS

[EN] Many of you are wondering where will be the next edition of Black Box Fest, today we will reveal where it will be.
2026 edition will be in a classic venue for the Guimarães Metal community the one and only Sede dos Trovadores do Cano. It will be the third time we do our event there so you know well what to expect.

Regarding the last bands of the 2026 lineup, we will receive for the first time in Portugal the French Death/Grind quartet Putrid Offal, expect some gore and death! From Galicia we will receive the duet Xerión - Metal Galaico Extremo with their Galician mythology and folklore themed Black Metal. From Porto comes one well known Black Metal ritual, Sonneillon with a new album in the forge, expect new songs to be played first here! From Guimarães we resurrect a band that was on a hiatus and away from the stages for 16 years. Square will perform a reunion show with the original lineup, for those missing them, that's your opportunity! From Braga comes Nojo, with some known faces in the lineup. It will be their first time in Guimarães with their powerful mix of Thrash/Death with Hardcore. Finally from Porto comes Armatilha also for the first time in Guimarães, a young band with young members full of energy with their blend of Death and Thrash Metal.

[PT] Muitos de vocês perguntam-se onde será a próxima edição do Black Box Fest; hoje vamos revelar o local.
A edição de 2026 acontecerá num espaço clássico para a comunidade de metal de Guimarães: a inconfundível Sede dos Trovadores do Cano. Será a terceira vez que realizamos nosso evento lá, então sabem bem o que esperar.

Quanto às últimas bandas do line-up de 2026, receberemos pela primeira vez em Portugal o quarteto francês de Death/Grind, Putrid Offal, preparem-se para muito gore e death! Da Galíza, receberemos a dupla Xerión, com seu Black Metal inspirado na mitologia e no folclore galegos. Do Porto chega um nome já conhecido dos rituais de Black Metal, os Sonneillon, com um novo álbum na forja, esperem ouvir as novas músicas pela primeira vez aqui! De Guimarães, ressuscitamos uma banda que estava num hiato e afastada dos palcos há 16 anos, os Square farão um concerto de reunião com a formação original, para quem estava com saudades, esta é a oportunidade! De Braga vêm os Nojo, trazendo rostos conhecidos em sua formação. Será a primeira vez deles em Guimarães com sua mistura poderosa de Thrash/Death e Hardcore. Por fim, do Porto chegam os Armatilha, também uma estreia em Guimarães, uma banda jovem, com membros jovens cheios de energia, trazendo uma mistura de Death e Thrash Metal.

Over the past editions, we have always tried to support a charitable cause with your help, and together we have consistently achieved that goal.

This year, we have decided to support the Animal Protection Society of Guimarães (SPAG), a non-profit association dedicated to helping animals and promoting their well-being.

They collect and rescue animals in need and facilitate their adoption! Additionally, they volunteer at the municipal shelter and assist colony caretakers and families in need.
As an all-volunteer organization without a physical facility, they face significant limitations, so any help is greatly appreciated!

So we would like to ask for your contribution in two ways:
The first is by donating cat or dog food, which is always needed by SPAG. However, they kindly ask that, whenever possible, you donate more cat food, as it is the least donated item and currently their greatest need.
The second way to contribute is through a monetary donation (see details below), either by bank transfer or via MBWay. For MBWay donations, SPAG asks groups of friends to combine their contributions and send them through a single contact, as MB Way limits the number of daily transfers that can be made.

Ao longo das edições anteriores, sempre procuramos apoiar uma instituição social ou de caridade com a vossa ajuda e, juntos, alcançamos esse objetivo de forma consistente.

Este ano, decidimos apoiar a Sociedade Protectora dos Animais de Guimarães (SPAG), uma associação sem fins lucrativos dedicada a ajudar animais e promover o bem-estar deles.

Eles recolhem e resgatam animais em situação de vulnerabilidade e facilitam a adoção! Além disso, realizam trabalho voluntário no abrigo municipal e auxiliam cuidadores de colónias e famílias necessitadas.
Por serem uma organização totalmente voluntária e sem sede própria, enfrentam limitações significativas; portanto, qualquer ajuda é muito bem-vinda!

Assim, gostaríamos de pedir a vossa contribuição de duas formas:
A primeira é através da doação de ração para gatos ou cães, item de que a SPAG sempre necessita. No entanto, pedem gentilmente que, sempre que possível, doem mais ração para gatos, pois é o item menos doado e, atualmente, a maior necessidade deles.
A segunda forma de contribuir é por meio de uma doação em dinheiro (vê os detalhes abaixo), seja via transferência bancária ou por MBWay. Para doações via MBWay, a SPAG solicita que grupos de amigos reúnam as suas contribuições e as enviem por meio de um único contato, uma vez que o MBWay limita o número de transferências diárias permitidas.

As we get ready to announce the final names for this year's edition , it's time to unveil, in the next few days, some of the partnerships we'll be bringing to you.

Tattoo artist Lidra is returning to our fest. Already well known in the tattoo world, the work she has been developing is truly impressive. Proof of that is how frequently she was requested throughout the 2025 edition.

So we’re excited (again) to announce that the talented Lidra Tattoo, will be on the 2026 edition, bringing metal vibes (or not) to your skin.

Appointments are required so contact Lidra to secure your tattoo slot and take a permanent piece of the festival with you.

Enquanto nos preparamos para anunciar as últimas atrações da edição deste ano, chegou a hora de revelar, nos próximos dias, algumas das parcerias que traremos para vocês.

A tatuadora Lidra Tattoo está de volta ao nosso festival. Já bastante conhecida no universo da tatuagem, ela desenvolve um trabalho verdadeiramente impressionante. A prova disso é a grande procura por seu trabalho durante a edição de 2025.

[EN] Today is the first day of SWR BARROSELAS METALFEST (yes yestarday was day 0, and what a day), and as in other years it's a festival we are present to support them and kick start our announcements.

This year we will announce in two phases and this is the first one. From Czechia we will bring Cutterred Flesh with their Extreme Death Metal, from Spain comes the occult metal trio with Doom/Death Metal influences Totengott. From Aveiro, Portugal comes the veterans B***y Trap with their Crossover Thrash, their last visit to Guimarães was in the 90's. From France comes WARSIDE that just released their first album through Gruesome Records. From Paredes, Portugal come The Small Hours with their Doom/Symphonic Metal. From Ovar, Portugal comes Vomitous Iniquity with their Brutal Death Metal with a dark tone. Finally in this first phase comes from Porto, Portugal the new comers Viledög with their Thrash/Groove.

We will be there to support and promote the seventh edition of the Black Box Fest! You can buy your ticket at SWR at pre-sale price, as well as some merch (new and old) from the festival that we will have there, just come and meet us or contact us on our FB/Instagram and we will meet you!
