Entre a matéria e a memória, nascem os troféus 🏺
Criados pela dupla Paula Monteiro e António, do atelier Cerâmicas do Moinho, os troféus ganham forma em grês - um material ancestral, resistente e carregado de história. Cada gesto inscreve um sentido, ligando-nos à terra e às raízes que partilhamos. Incorporados na peça, surgem fragmentos recolhidos nas ruínas da antiga Sociedade de Porcelanas de Coimbra, cruzando passado e presente num objeto único. Pequenas “explosões” que contam histórias - algumas visíveis, outras por descobrir. Sólidos como blocos de construção, formam um espaço comum de encontro e reflexão, e tornam-se ponto de partida para novas narrativas.
Assim nasce “Substrato”, uma exposição que dá corpo ao processo e o torna partilhável. Nela revela-se a concepção e criação dos troféus da 3.ª edição do DOC.Coimbra - uma viagem pelas entrelinhas de uma narrativa feita de investigação, curiosidade e transformação.
É o culminar de um percurso que reúne conceito e design de Inês Moura, fotografias de Nuno Sampaio, revisão de texto de Carla Gomes, e impressão e encadernação de UMBARRAUM, com um sentido agradecimento ao CTCV.
Uma peça, múltiplas histórias. Tal como o cinema documental. 💙

Between matter and memory, the trophies are born 🏺
Created by Paula Monteiro and António, from Cerâmicas do Moinho, the trophies take shape in stoneware - an ancestral, resilient material rich with history. Embedded within them are fragments collected from the ruins of the former Sociedade de Porcelanas de Coimbra, bringing past and present together in a unique object. Small “bursts” that tell stories - some visible, others yet to be uncovered.
Solid like building blocks, they form a shared space for encounter and reflection, and become the starting point for new narratives. It is within this gesture - of thinking, making and transforming - that the trophies find their natural extension.
Thus, "Substrato" emerges - an exhibition that gives form to the process and makes it shareable, unveiling the conception and creation of the trophies for the 3rd edition of DOC.Coimbra.
One piece, multiple stories. Just like documentary cinema. 💙
