We were quiet lately. Much has changed so here's an invite to take a tender look back as Quarto Trancado still rests. 🎶💭

A heartfelt track from our first ever gathering, Synergia Hostel 2017, plays softly, reminding us of youthful days, naivety, and beautiful beginnings.🎵🌟

Malgorzata Marta Zych graduated Wroclaw college of Art and Design and works with abstract commissions for bespoke interior designs and group exhibitions in Poland.
About her work: "Art has always been part of my life, but I only decided recently to focus fully on practicing visual arts. My practice is still in development and my professional career as an artist is just beginning. My main focus is on abstract canvases, collages and installations. I use various techniques and materials, including acrylic, cement, glass, pastel and watercolour. I work in series and usually starting from sketches, which I refer back to and use as a base for choosing materials. As I prefer to concentrate on a visual side of my work, I sometimes struggle to express myself using words."

Her experience in quarantine: "Quarantine. Distressing uncomfortable feeling of unknown. Getting used to the space of four walls of studio - the shelter. Missing the buzz of this city’s nightlife, people and the emotions they spread. I’m hungry for inspirations... I’m hungry for interaction... Obsession grows. Searching through depths of my imagination, I’m making up scenarios, stories, possibilities of reactions and interactions. Music will keep my eyes bright. Will keep my soul flowering. Will keep my hand reaching for pencil. I will paint. I will write. I will dream. I will keep digging. And looking around with eyes wild open. We are making history. We are changing."

Satadru Sovan Banduri is an artist from Delhi, India: ""My thought process is a soul cry about my inner soul and is very personal discourse of my personal journey. Life division, is in itself, a manner of lockdown, a mental storm. I am referring to my performance partner, as to how we divide ourselves, and from the outset of the lockdown being announced, I began to recall my mentor, Jogen Choudhury, word’s: “Your feelings may be stored in creation.“
This particular work is a personal homage to him, an attempt to relocate past memory and discover as to why we have both stored in our creative “box”. Maybe that way he is alive in all my art work.
It is a “Home-Quarantini” (A strong alcoholic beverage that is made when people are quarantined, or otherwise locked up or trapped in a location for an extended period of time) day journey, each day filled with the personal feelings of mine, on reality and the present."

“My thought process is a soul cry about my inner soul and is very personal discourse of my personal journey. My work this time is on mental enigma, mystery, puzzle ,riddle and lots of Metallica...

lena dewaegenaere is an artist, born in 1989, originally from Belgium.
"I’m a painter, documentary maker and photographer and everything in between.
I finished a master in audiovisual arts in 2011 at RITCS school of arts in Brussels and a postgraduate diploma in fine arts, painting at Michaelis school of fine arts at the university of Cape Town in 2018.
I’m interested in creating images that suggest a story and in the creation of a certain atmosphere in image making. I explore how a broadly recognised sensations one gets through images can be created through composition and the use of color.
The main thematic interest of my practice is people and how they relate to a certain place and moment in time. I’m exploring the real space and time versus the mental space and time. My work speaks about ways of seeing and interpretation."

She spent her lockdown in Brussels, Belgium.
"More specifically about this project, when the lockdown started I realised this are interesting and unique times. I wanted to document this in my own way so I decided to make a painting every day until we can leave our houses again. To be honest I never expected it would take this long when this started"

Alba Bras, 21 years old currently in her third year of graphic design at EINA, Barcelona - "My dream is to be able to combine the work of a designer with that of an art teacher. Teach what I learn and transmit my vision of the day to day."
Alba's project during lockdown time is a collective project where she illustrates the things that people are missing during confinement and had send her through messages.

"I need to have a clean and white table because when I get to work it is where I write the best ideas. It has become all painted! Also with the project ( ) I do not separate myself from my agenda with all the messages that they send me written down and organized. Finally, I illustrate with my iPad and pass it to the computer to touch up and combine it with his phrase."

Ruxandra Pătrașcu is a journalist and artist from Romania. Her project called "Autoetnography" is a visual testimony describing her experience in isolation: "Within my former room, as the virus surprised me at my parents house. It is rather a diary of instrospection and an ongoing process as a coping mechanism given that I usually espress myself though writing and photography. "

"four walls and tree windows

My room is an extension of myself. It becomes more and more intimate with every bird I observe resting on the air conditioner outside the windows. my room is the soft exercising ground and through its threads I stumble upon seed husks eaten the previous night while binging a Netflix series. It is an animal shelter, be it for our own dog, or for the cat suspended on a cement fence, lingering in my memory in a contre jour light accompanied by the song of a restless spring bird. my room is space for protest, for resilience and for playing hide and seek with every turn around the corners of the building while following my dog's leash avoiding the sight of police, surrounding ourselves with bushes and blossoming trees, turning them into shelter. It houses branches of all the life forms I know and grew with, the light of the morning sun reminds me of this when it throws itself upon the smile of a younger version of my mother immortalized in a black and white photography.
my room is where memories are hidden in the walls, behind the coat of this sand-like paint lie traces of yellow, green, purple and pink, the colors of my teenage years. It became a portal of the past and the present triggered by the lockdown imposed by the state due to the killer virus lingering among us; a place of obedience and rebellion, it is organizing my past and showing me who I was and what I became.
my room is me and I didn't even notice it before. It is also my former room, from my parents house, where the virus caught me and this is a break up."

Pierre Morot is a digital artist based in Paris, France. About surviving techniques during quarantine: "I can share some really good pasta recipes that cheer me up. Next supply run you have to make grab some red pesto and linguine. also olive oil' garlic and onion. here are the two pasta recipes that keep me going. The first one is to boil linguine then toss it with red pesto, garlic and onion in a pan with some pasta water.(make sure you start with the onion because it takes a while to soften up) then add the red pesto. good stuff. try it out. then we have this recipe i shamelessly pilfered from binging with babish Binging with Babish: Pasta Aglio e Olio from "Chef" (cut a lot more garlic than you think you need) also feel free to add shrimp you cooked in a separate pan as to not overcook them. trust me it'll taste divine"

Surviving techniques? i Guess that's something we all have to deal with global pandemic or not. i can share some really good pasta recipes that cheer me up. Next supply run you have to make grab...

Analia Adorni visual arts was born in Argentina and studied at the National University of Arts of Buenos Aires. About her project Post-Period: "My artwork attend to reflect about the relationships in times of COVID19. In these days I am seeing a control in the diary life of citizens and the necessity of vigilance.
MI intention is to reflect about the strong control in the movements, life and relationships of people, penalizations for the citizens in case of no action according the rules.
National States use words like war, victory, friends and unfriends: in consequence appear the phenomenon of social distancing and isolation.
This situation transforms the life of population and contribute to create paranoiac ; but, at the same time is a positive change, because this time is an opportunity for to increase the solidarity and the relationships. In this period I will work with the impresions of Social Distancing and Isolation, for see the changes in the thinking and relationship in the style life of the persons in the town (Volterra, a town of 10.000 citizens in Central Italy, Tuscany) and the experience of my self life in quarantine."

Analia Adorni is now in lockdown in Tuscany, Italy: "I think that fter this adversity the world will be more solidary and more creative. The idea is that the emergency is already a step for a better world. The relationships will change and the society we will enjoy of simply things. After this adversity the people will take more carefully with the nature. The nature will be
reconsidered and Global warming will be accepted; people will enjoy of landscapes and natural spaces."

Kim Miryeon is a digital artist born in Andong, Korea:
"Corona19 Pandemic made it possible to experience the similarity of human emotions by exchanging events around the world and emotions that people experience in real-time via SNS. When economic activities and human movements stop, nature and atmosphere begin to survive. The vertical evolution of technology and the convenience of everyday life that have been achieved while the order of nature has been destroyed make the earth, including humans, a ruin. Paradoxically, mankind is in time and space to think about the direction of human evolution and development after the pandemic."
