After a couple of weeks under rain and cloudy nights, I've finally been able to get some clear skies, so last Friday I hopped in the car and went out to do a bit of astrophotography. On the first photo there's M3 (messier 3), a globular cluster of stars on the northern constellation of Canes Venaciti, on the second I've went for the Leo Triplet, a small group of galaxies in the constellation Leo and on the third one it was a 30 min star trail with the landscape as foreground.

Yesterday's night was interesting, I had never tried to photograph the night sky during winter time in the mountains, mostly due to the low temperatures and a bit of laziness. I had to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the darkness of the sky, there where no clouds at all and besides having two blokes of ice instead of feet's, I've managed to photograph a couple of objects in the sky and do some creative photos with an old abandoned refuge house. The first photo is a composition of the flame nebula and the horsehead nebula, second one is the core of the andromeda galaxy and the third is a close up of the orion nebula. All of them are around half an hour of integration time.

It has been for a long time a wish I had, to be able to properly photograph the skies.
I started a couple of years ago doing the usual wide angle, milky way photographs getting the sky and a bit of earth's surface in the photo but always intrigued me the deep sky photos and the vast amount of compositions it hides. I've been postponing to try it out but finally gave it a go in February this year and I've been loving it ever since. This one in particular was from yesterday's night, capturing the M42 (Orion Nebula) with integration time of 1 hour.

It's been a while since the last time I posted some photos, in the previous week I went to a concert of and that took place at Sala Palco, organised by . I had some Kodak vision that was graded for tungsten light and was hyped with the idea of photographing a concert with film. I grabbed my pentax and the roll of film and went to the concert with it.
I got pretty happy with the results and it's definitely something to repeat.
