Diyar Dance Theatre is composed of a group of talented, enthusiastic and committed dancers, both male and female, of differing ages and backgrounds. The group sees its mission as bringing to life Bethlehem’s rich history and culture through dance. The vision of the Diyar Dance Theater is to be a place where young adults can celebrate their Palestinian heritage through traditional folk dance and mo
dern theatre and a space where creativity, imagination, and freedom of expression are celebrated as critical components of cultural and social development. This vision is a natural extension of the broader work of the Diyar Consortium in cultivating and empowering young leaders, and it is this vision that unites and animates the entirely volunteer dance troupe. The Diyar Dance Theater believes ardently in the value of preserving the culture of the Palestinian people. Passing along culture through the visual and performance arts, food, and literature has been a primary means by which Palestinians have held on to their identity, values, norms, and traditions, not only in the occupied territories but also in the Diaspora. Protecting this culture is essential in the struggle for independence, for it is a source of hope, a fuel propelling the Palestinians from the past into a more promising future. It reminds them they are more than their present circumstances: there is vibrancy in who they are as a people. In this way, the Diyar Dance Theater aspires through its drama and dance to bring together stories of celebration as well as struggle. For Palestinian youth in particular, dance and theatre are important vehicles not only for cultivating cultural identity but also for creating and sustaining mental and emotional health. Diyar Dance Theater offers an arena for youth to express themselves and their feelings in positive ways. As tools of expression, dance and theater become outlets for those wishing to release the stress accumulated from years of living behind concrete walls. Working out issues through art builds self-awareness, and dancing away the week’s worries aids with self-esteem. At Diyar Dance Theater, youth can create movements for justice and gender equality that more powerful than rocks and angry words. But perhaps most importantly, coming together to produce a performance piece teaches youth how to mobilize themselves around a shared vision. It demands discipline and an understanding that in working together, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. These lessons extend beyond the studio and can be seen in the academic and personal achievements the youth make. At Diyar Dance Theater, youth are catalyzing change in themselves and in their community. But more than bolstering its own people, Diyar Dance Theatre believes nourishing rather than neglecting cultural is a way to build bridges across communities, both locally and internationally. The visual and performance arts, unique to a particular people, place, and space have the power to open hearts and minds to new ideas, new dreams, and new ways of being. Dance, art, and culture more generally humanize the other, evoking mirrored emotions between those who watch and those who perform. What happens on stage tethers the two in a way discourse and debate often cannot. Dance, in particular, is a compelling medium through which stories can be shared, ideas exchanged and jointly experienced.
تجَمع شبابي فني ثقافي يهدف للتعبير عن الهوية الفلسطينية وقضايا وهموم الشباب الفلسطيني بطرق فنية إبداعية معاصرة. يتألف المسرح من عدد من الراقصين والراقصات ضمن برنامج تدريبي مكثف للمزج ما بين الدبكة الشعبية و الدراما والرقص المعاصر الخاص بالمسرح بقالب فني يحاكي قضايا الإنسان والمجتمع.
أهداف مسرح ديار الراقص
• إنماء فكر شبابي يعرض ثقافة وهوية الشعب الفلسطيني عن طريق استخدام الرقص والفنون بأساليب مختلفة.
• توفير حيز للشباب والشابات لتنمية طاقاتهم ومواهبهم الخاصة بأساليب فنية متنوعة وخلق نتاج فني منبثق عن عمل الجماعة.
• التعبير عن الإنسان الفلسطيني بإبراز قضايا اجتماعية وتجارب شخصية بأسلوب فني نقدي بنَاء.
• تعريف زوار فلسطين بالثقافة الفلسطينية عن طريق الرقص الفلكلوري الفلسطيني والمسرح المعاصر.
فلسفة العمل الثقافي
• مسرح راقص مبني على اندماج التاريخ الشفوي الفلسطيني الممثل بالدبكة الفلسطينية بالمسرح المعاصر والذي يهدف بدورة إعادة تشكيل العمل الشبابي الفلسطيني بقالب مسرحي درامي راقص مستوحى من القضايا الاجتماعية وتطلعات وأمال الشباب الفلسطيني.
• يؤمن مسرح ديار الراقص بأن "الفلكلور" يعني ( حكاية الشعب) أو المعرفة الشعبية المختزلة والذي يضاف للبعد ألتوثيقي للقضية الفلسطينية والمعتمد على إحياء التراث والمسرح كشكل من أشكال النضال والتحدي. كما و يهدف المسرح للخروج عن المألوف في طرح القضايا الاجتماعية والسياسية واستقطاب الشباب الفلسطيني بمحاولة دمجه في المجتمع وإنماء الفكر التطوعي الهادف لتطوير المجتمع على أساس أهمية دور الشباب الفاعل في التنمية والعطاء.
• إن أهمية مسرح ديار الراقص تكمن في تثبيت هوية الشباب الفلسطيني الناشط والذي يملك الرؤية والحكمة المكتسبة من القيادة الفاعلة والتي بدورها تعرض احتياجات المجتمع وتطلعاته من خلال خشبة المسرح عن طريق أبراز قضايا اجتماعية ذات أهمية لجميع فئات المجتمع وخاصة الفئات المهمشة منها.
• كما ويعمل المسرح على المزج بين ثلاث عناصر في بناء عروضه وهي الدبكة الشعبية المستخلصة من الذاكرة الشعبية الجماعية عبر التاريخ والمسرح المعاصر في طرحه للقضايا الاجتماعية و الرقص الحديث المستوحى من أهمية الحركة والجسد في التعبير عن الذات ويشكل هذا المزيج اتصالا بين ثقافات متعددة يرجى من خلالها نقل القضايا الاجتماعية والنفسية والسياسية بطرق غير تقليدية مفعمة بحياة الشباب النابض بالأمل والحرية.
• يقوم المسرح على مبدأ تدعيم حرية التعبير والرأي والرأي الآخر لذلك يتم عقد جلسات توعية ونقاش تهدف لاستخراج أفكار المشاركين وطرحها في بيئة مفعمة بايجابية الرؤية وخلق بيئة آمنة تتيح للأعضاء من خلالها إبراز قضايا شخصية أو مجتمعية ومحاولة عرضها للمجتمع من خلال عروض مسرحية درامية راقصة.
