We’re thrilled to welcome Toussaint Rosefort to the Arriba Abajo Art Residency in Old San Juan.

Toussaint Rosefort is an interdisciplinary artist whose work navigates power, materiality, and historical memory through bold visual language and conceptual rigor. Drawing from lived experience and a sharp critical lens, Rosefort interrogates structures of authority, identity, and desire—transforming everyday materials into charged, symbolic forms.

During his time in Old San Juan, Rosefort will engage with the layered histories of Puerto Rico—the colonial architecture, Caribbean light, and the complex intersections of culture and sovereignty that shape the island’s present. The residency provides a site for research, experimentation, and dialogue, fostering new work that responds to place while expanding his ongoing investigations.

We look forward to witnessing the evolution of his practice within this vibrant, historic setting and to the conversations his work will spark within the Arriba Abajo community.
