Swords of Lucknow ⚔️ Wallace Museum

Nearly a metre long and richly decorated with enamel and gold, these five swords reveal the splendour of 18th- and 19th-century Lucknow, a flourishing centre of power, artistry and cultural exchange.

They reflect the court of the Nawabs of Awadh, rulers of Iranian Shia heritage who presided over a diverse population and fostered a culture of luxury and ceremony. Swords such as these signified prestige, loyalty and masculine identity, serving as status symbols as well as weapons, and were also exchanged as diplomatic gifts.

El Amor en La Rosa Tudor y La Granada Isabelina Salvado por el British Museum de un Coleccionista Privado en una Subasta

Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon's marriage didn't last - he divorced her in 1533 - but a golden heart pendant linked to their union did survive, and has now been secured for permanent display at the British Museum.
The 24-carat-gold heart, complete with the couple's initials in red, and a picture of the Tudor rose and a pomegranate tree, was acquired by the British Museum after it raised 3.5 million pounds ($4.8 million) to save it from being sold to a private collector.

El Castillo San Felipe de El Morro En Femenino, San Juan Bautista de Puerto Rico 🌹🐑 por Atelier s. MV ⚜️

Isabel de Portugal era la segunda hija del rey Manuel I de Portugal y de su segunda esposa, María de Aragón, siendo por tanto infanta de Portugal por nacimiento. Recibió el nombre de su abuela materna, Isabel I de Castilla, y de su tía materna, Isabel de Aragón (1470-1498), que había sido la primera esposa de su padre. A lo largo de su vida, muchos la compararían con su abuela Isabel I de Castilla por su carácter y su determinación en la política. Fue la segunda en la línea sucesoria al trono hasta el nacimiento de su hermano Luis en 1506, y a través de su madre era nieta de los Reyes Católicos, por lo tanto prima hermana de Carlos V. Como hija mayor era la candidata a casarse con su primo hermano Carlos, hijo de la hermana de María, Juana I de Castilla, y de su marido Felipe, duque de Borgoña. En la línea genealógica de su padre, era nieta del infante Fernando, duque de Viseu (segundo hijo del rey Eduardo de Portugal y hermano del rey Alfonso V de Portugal), y de Beatriz de Portugal, hija de Juan de Portugal (hermano del rey Eduardo).

An Allegory Of The Colors of India and Portugal

The colors and motifs of Indo-Portuguese heritage have lots of Earth Tones with Gold Motifs and Mother of Pearl Motifs and different coloured gemstones, the nights in Black and Dark backgrounds with golden brushstrokes filled with the panoramas of Nature glowing, such as tree branches, flora, fauna, and a little bit of ocean derived mother of pearl, a true allegory of Nature. In the rethoric of Sprituality, Connection to Nature and Humanity, the colors of India and Portugal in its Heritage repertoire, reflect all this and much more.

The arts of the handmade are conserved in various ways nowadays, and craft is still alive with a delicate nuance of what was and what is, an allegory of ethereal value for things left by ancestors.

Whether one side of the World or the other, it’s all Within One World if we look back and within or forward and beyond.
