From Santurce to Venice — REM Project arrives in Venice with the opening of its new gallery at Via Garibaldi 1735, reinforcing its long-term commitment to expanding cultural dialogue within the international contemporary art scene.
Rooted in a curatorial practice that moves between the Caribbean, Latin America, and the global art circuit, REM Project continues to develop through exhibitions, independent initiatives, and international collaborations.
In this context, we are pleased to present the Director of the Venice gallery Veronica Piras(.prs )
Curator and cultural manager specialized in international contemporary art, her practice spans production, curatorial direction, and the development of complex exhibition projects between Italy and abroad.
Throughout her career, she has led the full management of cultural projects: from research and artist selection to curatorial conception, production, communication, and coordination of teams and venues in international contexts.
Her experience includes participation in projects linked to major institutional contexts and international art events, contributing to a broad and global understanding of the contemporary art ecosystem.
Founder of PROJECT 374, she continues to develop independent initiatives dedicated to the research, production, and visibility of contemporary artists.
Today she assumes the directorship of the new REM Project gallery in Venice, conceived as a space for cultural production and curatorial thinking, focused on dialogue between the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and the international contemporary art scene.
