This is NOT OK!
This is the result of a beginner student being told to keep trying to invert at her studio class because her instructors plan was to do moves from an invert...
No alternatives or adaptations given so she continued to try..
WTF..
It doesn't matter how nice the instructor is peeps this is all wrong!
Some bruising is normal with pole to start with until your skin conditions.
And some peeps discover they're anemic and experience horrific bruising just after trying a move once.
This kind of bruising has come from consistently bashing into the pole from repeatedly trying to get upside down with poor technique for the whole lesson. 😬
I'm sharing this to educate you.
This is NOT OK!
If you're being told to keep trying without alternatives to work on... please walk out of that class...
It's not worth you risking serious injury especially when there is sooooo much you can do on and off the pole to build strength in a safe way.
Pole will build your confidence if you learn from the beginning up...
Inverting in my opinion is not a beginner move but there is soo much you can do in the beginner levels that will help prep you for getting upside down...
So when you reach that point you will feel more ready.
From my experience it takes the average person approx 1 year to work up towards being able to invert safely.
Some longer and some less but to give you an idea, that a lot of time to work on building that strength 💪
Please seek another instructor/ studio. If there isn't any local to you and its an option, you'll either be best to travel or get a pole at home and come learn from us online.
