We can finally share these! captured these stunning shots during international prelims on back in November – I still can't believe how much I love these, considering they were shot when I was sweaty, had cramps in both my feet that started during the performance and was running on two hours of sleep. These are also the only photos that I have of Maria in her full glory since I forgot to even take a selfie during the competition (.cosplay we will do the Spooderman meme SOMEHOW)
Why post them for Valentine's? Well, when you spend this much time working on costumes together – the late nights, the problem-solving, the moments when you want to quit but your partner keeps you going – you realize this is what a good partnership looks like. Creative or otherwise.
Maria and Alucard were personally important to us, and looking at these images now, we're so glad we pushed through to the end. It meant more than we can put into words.
Also, huge thanks to and for staying up late to make that beautiful support banner (photo 6 still makes us cry 😭❤️)
What's your Valentine's Day looking like? Ours is spending the day at a con with friends, we'll have our own celebration later with a hotpot, since food is our love language.
