Neapolitan School by Filippo Mineccia
In the 17th century, Naples resounded with the virtuoso singing of castrati, who amazed the audience with their skills. Daring arias were presented to them by a fair number of composers, who fell into oblivion when the popularity of singing castrato came to an end. Now that their roles were taken over by countertenors, the music of forgotten masters has been revived. One of those, who revive this kind of music is Filippo Mineccia, the Italian countertenor, who is stunning with his voice. Amidst the splendor of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, we will hear Filippo Mineccia performing arias from operas by Domenico Sarra, Francesco Gasparini and others.
