Nawiązania do Czarodziejskiego fletu Mozarta, przewijające się w twórczości Kentridge’a od czasu jego wielkiej produkcji dla brukselskiego teatru operowego La Monnaie w 2005 roku, której był reżyserem, tutaj objawiają się w swojej najwcześniejszej, drukowanej formie”

"A monumental letterpress work in which Kentridge’s drawn imagery is printed across opened spreads of the 1950 "Chambers’s Encyclopaedia". "The Magic Flute" reference, which has run through Kentridge’s practice since his 2005 production of the Mozart opera for La Monnaie in Brussels, is held here in its earliest printed form: a figure schooling itself in an art that is also an instrument of enlightenment, set against the printed body of an encyclopaedia that claims to have already organised the world."
