A Global Music Therapy Triumph 🎵✨

Our music therapy concert “A Christmas Dream” has just experienced a sold-out milestone at Carnegie Hall, New York! 🏆

More than a concert - this was a powerful moment for global music therapy, proving that healing through music needs no translation 🌍❤️.

Organizing with Carnegie Hall’s ultra-professional team was a masterclass in excellence. Every detail reflected world-class standards.

The historic Weill Recital Hall became a sanctuary of profound silence and connection. The feedback said it all: “Pure endorphins and happiness. You need to be here regularly.” 🕊️

This event wasn’t just our success. It’s a bright signal that therapeutic music belongs on the world’s greatest stages.

We’re inspired and ready for the next chapter! 🎹➡️🌎

Do you know that music is like a time machine for your brain? 🎧✨ Science shows that certain melodies can instantly transport us to specific moments in our lives, unlocking memories we thought were long forgotten.

🧠 The Science Behind It: The part of the brain responsible for processing music is closely linked to memory and emotions. That’s why just a few notes of a song can take you back to your childhood, your first love, or even a far-off destination.

What is music therapy? There are several definitions 🎼
But the most extensive and capacious definition is from the World Federation of Music Therapy:

“Music therapy is the professional use of music and its elements as a specific tool in medical 👩‍⚕️, educational 🧑‍🏫 and everyday 🙍‍♀️ settings in working with individuals, groups, families or communities who seek to optimize their quality of life and improve their physical, social, communicative, emotional, intellectual and spiritual health and well-being.” ✨

Dear friends!
We continue the series of posts in which we talk about music therapy, and today we will «dive» into its varieties. There are many varieties of music therapy, and we probably don’t even know about the existence of some of them 🙌

Sound therapy 🎶
This is a method of harmonizing and healing a person through audible vibrations, which we call sound.
Sound therapy often uses intuitive tools that do not require special education and are available for everyone to play - such as Tibetan singing bowls, Koshi bells, various types of drums and others.

Vocal therapy 🗣
This is a therapeutic technique based on singing and a certain system of exercises that allows you to stimulate the internal organs of a person, as well as normalize the functionality of the nervous system, and increase the body’s resistance to adverse external factors.

Flute therapy 🪈
This is the harmonization of a person’s state by influencing his entire system with the sound of a flute.

Harp therapy 🎼
This is an ancient method of harmonizing the physical, emotional and mental state of a person by influencing the body with vibrations of harp strings.

There is also bilotherapy, bell therapy and other varieties 💫

Dear friends! In previous posts we looked at the history of music therapy, and now we would like to talk about the main music therapy schools/directions 🧑‍🏫

1. Swedish school 🇸🇪
The Swedish school of music therapy was founded by A. Pontvik in 1948 and was based on the teachings of Carl Jung.
The main idea is the concept of psychoresonance. It is based on the fact that the deep layers of human consciousness can resonate with sounding harmonic forms (i.e. melody/sounds) and thus be revealed for analysis and understanding. Based on the concepts of the “collective unconscious” and “archetype” of C. Jung, A. Pontvik developed an idea of the ways of penetrating into the deep layers of the psyche through proportional relationships of sounds 🎶

2. American school 🇺🇸
In the American direction of music psychotherapy, its therapeutic effect is based on the ideas of traditional psychoanalysis. Striving during the session to get the patient to remember emotionally traumatic situations, the psychotherapist, with the help of music, brings them to a cathartic discharge and thereby alleviates the patient’s condition. In this regard, the selection of appropriate musical works that could evoke the necessary structure of figurative associations and experiences, the subsequent analysis of which could clarify the nature of the suppressed conflict, is of great importance 👩‍⚕️✨
