🌿 The 22nd volume of "Musicology Today", titled "Music, Nature, and Sound: Musical Ecology", is now available online in open access: https://reference-global.com/issue/MUSO/22/1

Drawing on contributions from scholars and artists working across musicology, sound studies, composition, and cultural theory, the issue explores music as a medium that not only reflects ecological issues but also helps shape our understanding of them. Many of the articles stem from the International Online Conference on Renewable Music, held in October 2024 as part of the Creative Europe-funded project "Renewable Music. V4 Composers for Sustainability", led by the Polish Composers’ Union.

📢 We’re thrilled to share that the 'Renewable Music: V4 Composers for Sustainability' project has received co-financing from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, through the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the 'Promesa dla Kultury' programme. 🇵🇱✨

This support enabled us to foster international collaboration and innovation in music, empowering composers from the Visegrad Group (V4) countries to create works inspired by themes of sustainability and cultural exchange. 🌍🎶

🔎 Marek Chołoniewski (born 1953, in Krakow).Composer, sound artist, performer, teacher and manager. Head of Electroacoustic Music Studios at the Academy of Music in Krakow and Audiosphere Lab at the Intermedia Department of Fine Arts Academy in Kraków. Founder and President of Muzyka Centrum Art Society and Polish Society for Electroacoustic Music PSeME. He is a Secretary of International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music CIME/ICEM. Director of Audio Art Festival in Krakow. Founder of many groups and ensembles, among others: Freight Train, ch&k&k, dizzy kinetics, GrupLab. Author of many projects, instrumental and electroacoustic music, sound and video installations, interactive, space/environment, audiovisual and net-art projects. He received Honorable Award in 2006 and 2023 Year Award of the Polish Composers Union, Award of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, as well as the Independent Project grant of the CEC ArtsLink in New York.
