Projekt "Wirtualne Muzea Podkarpacia" powstał z inicjatywy Muzeum Okręgowego w Rzeszowie w 2010 roku i działa dzięki uzyskanym dotacjom Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego. Głównym zadaniem projektu jest umożliwienie zwiedzania wnętrz muzealnych w Internecie oraz przybliżenie zbiorów poprzez użycie najnowszych technologii, które zostały wdrożone w nowo powstałym Laboratorium 3D. t "Virtual Museums of the Podkarpackie" was created by an initiative by the Regional Museum of Rzeszow in 2010 and is funded by the European Fund for Regional Development. The main task for the project is to make the museum collections accessible through the internet and through the use of the latest technologies which were implemented in the newly opened Laboratorium 3D. Within the presentation of each museum virtual tours and films were created about the museums and exhibits (these include both those on view at the museums as well as those exhibits currently not on display). The Museum Portal will continue to grow with the addition of other museums and their collections.
