The lighthouse is ready to shine.

With the lamp glowing and the whole structure finally together, the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse now feels less like a model on the bench and more like a real coastal light waiting for dusk. The warm light in the lantern and windows gives it exactly the atmosphere I hoped for.

The model was very enjoyable to build. Some parts are delicate and need careful handling, but thanks to the very good fit of the laser-cut elements, the build went smoothly and without any real problems.

It is protected against moisture, so maybe one day it will get the chance to shine outdoors as well.

Used: acrylic paints and cardboard glue.

Bringing all the lighthouse parts together.

The lamp, Fresnel lens, glazing, railings and upper details are now assembled into one complete section. This is the moment where the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse really starts to show its final character — especially with the warm light inside.

All those delicate parts finally come together and make the whole model feel alive.

Installing the Fresnel lens.

One of the most distinctive details of the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse is now in place — a Fresnel lens, 3D printed in clear resin. Small elements like this may take only a moment to add, but they give the model much more character and bring the lighthouse closer to its final look.

This is exactly the kind of detail that makes a build more satisfying.

Installing the railings and finishing the upper part of the lighthouse.

The next stage of the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse build focuses on the railings and the upper section details. All parts are laser-cut with very high precision, but they are also delicate, so this step needs a careful hand and a bit of patience.

Small architectural details like this really help the lighthouse start looking complete.

The lighthouse is starting to come alive.

The extra LEDs changed the whole mood of the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse. What was just a clean cardboard structure a moment ago now feels warmer, deeper and much more like a real building standing somewhere on the coast after sunset.

That is exactly why I like adding small personal touches to a kit — they do not change the model completely, but they give it its own atmosphere.

The lighthouse walls are now covered with plaster.

This stage already changes the look of the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse and makes the structure feel much more real. The kit includes an LED for the lighthouse lamp, but I decided to add a few extra lights to bring some life into the windows as well.

Small additions like this can make a big difference in the final atmosphere of the model.

First steps of the lighthouse build.

The first parts of the Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse are already coming together. Everything fits very well, and the first impression of the model’s size appears surprisingly quickly, even at this early stage.

A good start always makes a build more enjoyable.
