It may be silent but the work is going on 😉
I'm creating the world - my auto-generation tools are much help, but much work is still ahead. The tilemap is almost there, and when I will end the inside of all buildings, there will be time for creating a Steamworks page (yes, I am finally one step away from being accessible on Steam!), and one new system. I will share more details in the future 😃

Technical stuff this and previous week. There are some fixes connected to swimming and controls, but most importantly, I managed to write new level constructor (so a tool that creates a level based on a png files - for faster level creation).

And I must say, I'm happy to see how much is changed now:
- 4 images necessary instead of 7
- there are 2 times less colours needed for the same effect
- the script finds tiles automatically.

Expect new level to explore soon 😉. But first, the game (and combat...) needs tutorial, so I'm starting doing it right now.

Had little time lately, so there were no posts for the last two weeks. But still, I worked several days and there come more changes to the combat system. The clarity is better now, there are also several new features:

- all actions can change only 3 tokens at once
- enemies can have armour too
- some enemies can poison player, increasing sickness
- single use items have their own visual "menu" below inventory
- single use items function differently (don't change the player's tokens, bring their own)

The first thing I ever made for this game was running animation (you can see it on itch.io and some of the videos). I was focused just on drawing realistic and appealing pixel art, all mechanics came later.
But I didn't make proper swimming animation, and I even didn't now how otters swim. Now I know (https://www.larsbaggenstos.com/swimming-animations).

A bit longer break than I planned but now the posts are back, and there is much that I would like to upload!

I still have some old parts of my project and many new plans to show. But there is also some feedback from the first bigger playable prototype from my testers. Expect posts about art, mechanics upgrades, new mechanics and bug fixing soon!

Currently on holidays, so only a quick update. In July I was on a scout camp, but I managed to make the posts in advance. Now there will be something like two weeks break but after that, I'm coming back to development. I already have some feedback from my testers, so there will be changes.
