On the occasion of 14th August – Pakistan Independence Day, the Director and Deputy Director of Peshawar Zoo conducted an inspection to review the zoo’s arrangements, animal welfare, cleanliness, security, and visitor facilities.

The visit reflected the commitment of Peshawar Zoo towards responsible wildlife care, conservation, and a safe and welcoming environment for the public.

پشاور چڑیا گھر میں آزادی شجرکاری مہم کا شاندار آغاز 🌱🇵🇰
آزادی بھی، شجرکاری بھی — سرسبز خیبرپختونخوا کی جانب ایک اور تاریخی قدم!
یومِ آزادی کے موقع پر پشاور چڑیا گھر میں آزادی شجرکاری مہم کے تحت پشاور چڑیا گھر کے افسران و اہلکاروں نے بھرپور جوش و جذبے کے ساتھ اس مہم میں عملی طور پر حصہ لیا۔
پشاور چڑیا گھر میں یہ شجرکاری محض پودے لگانے کی سرگرمی نہیں، بلکہ آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے سایہ، صاف ہوا، حیاتیاتی تنوع اور ایک سرسبز پاکستان کی بنیاد رکھنے کا عزم ہے۔
یومِ آزادی کا پیغام واضح ہے:
پاکستان کی آزادی کا جشن — پاکستان کی سرسبزی کے عزم کے ساتھ! 🇵🇰

𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫 𝐙𝐨𝐨 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 with patriotic spirit and a renewed commitment to the conservation of nature and wildlife.
The celebrations commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony, graced by 𝑴𝒓. 𝑷𝒊𝒓 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒓 𝑲𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝑮𝒉𝒂𝒛𝒊, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Climate Change, Environment, Forestry & Wildlife Department (CCFE&WD), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 𝑴𝒓. 𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒍𝒊 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒊, Parliamentary Secretary for CCFE&WD, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, a plantation activity was held within the premises of Peshawar Zoo to symbolize our joint responsibility towards the land, forests, wildlife, and natural heritage of Pakistan.
Conservator Wildlife/ Director Peshawar Zoo, 𝑴𝒓. 𝑴𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒋𝒋𝒂𝒅 𝑨𝒍𝒊, presented souvenirs to both distinguished guests. In a further symbolic gesture, a potted sapling was presented to both honorable guests, representing the enduring bond between national pride and environmental responsibility.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge to protect Pakistan’s rich biodiversity, promote environmental awareness, and inspire future generations to value and conserve the country’s remarkable natural heritage.
