šŸ“¢ Call to All Artists & Art Practitioners (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)
The Directorate of Culture, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has initiated a registration drive to update the provincial artistsā€™ database and extend welfare support under initiatives such as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Deserving Artists Welfare Endowment Fund.
All artists and art practitioners are requested to download the registration form, fill it, sign it, scan it, and send it back to me so that I may submit it collectively to the Directorate of Culture, KP.
Purpose of Registration:
ā€¢ā  ā Creation of an updated cultural database
ā€¢ā  ā Financial assistance for health and household needs
ā€¢ā  ā Support and promotion of cultural and artistic activities
Eligibility:
ā€¢ā  ā Artists with KP domicile
ā€¢ā  ā Fields include: painting, calligraphy, music, singing, acting, dance, handicrafts, scriptwriting, and other visual & performing arts
Welfare Support:
The provincial government has established a significant welfare endowment fund to support deserving artists across KP.

It was an honor for me to organize Abasin Arts Awards 2021 and curate the significance art exhibition this year as well. It was indeed a difficult task for me but thanks to Almighty ALLAH for giving me the strength to conduct such a gigantic Art Event of the year.
Abasin Arts Council, (AAC) Peshawar is the first and exclusive government Non-profit organization, promoting art and culture of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region since 1955. AAC, Peshawar is the only arts council of the country that arranges National Art Awards, Exhibitions and gives cash prizes since 1981 till date regularly.
The awards were established to give tribute to the legendary artists of the country namely S.S.Hyder, (Award first initiated in 1981) Gul Gee (Awards established in1996) and Ghani Khan (Awards established in 2013), they were no doubt truly veteran artists having substantial contribution to promote art and culture of this region throughout the world.
Being an art advisor AAC, I am really thankful to the administration of Abasin Arts Council, Peshawar, artistā€™s community, contributors, partners, friends and of course the jury members.

I really appreciate the ultimate backing of Mr. Ameer Sultan Tareen, secretary, Culture and Tourism Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Last but not the least; I truly admired the artworks of all the participant artists, it was quite an inspiring and stimulating experience to see a lot of experimentation, modernization and creativity in the works done by the participants entering the competition. I congratulate all the winners, whose works have been chosen for awards after a hard-hitting competition.
Hope to see more inspirational artworks in future.

Abasin Arts Council Peshawar is not-for-profit government organisation founded in 1955 by Musarat Hussain Zuberi (then commissioner of Peshawar) as Abasin Arts Society. It was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1880. In 1967 its name was changed to Abasin Arts Council.
The council is responsible to promote the culture and Arts (Visual Arts, Performing Art, Music and Literature) and artists of the region.
Abasin Arts Awards are organised every year and has a long history, happening regularly since 1980. Keeping its legacy alive the Council announced this year's awards, giving tribute to the legendary artists of the region, who received international recognition.
