Happy New Year Ravians 🎉❤️
GCU Lahore celebrated its 163rd Founders’ Day, marking over a century and a half of distinguished academic heritage. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, along with senior faculty members, cut the ceremonial cake at a dignified event held at Abdus Salam Hall. On the occasion, he highlighted the importance of safeguarding long-standing academic traditions while proactively addressing modern educational and societal challenges.
Government College Lahore was established on January 1, 1864, beginning its journey in the Haveli of Raja Dhyan Singh in the Walled City as an institution dedicated to liberal arts and science education.

Heartfelt Appreciation for Anas Hameed – Our New Assistant Commissioner!
Today, we celebrate not just a remarkable achievement, but an inspiring journey of perseverance, dedication, and unwavering belief. Anas Hameed, hailing from a humble middle-class family, has officially become an Assistant Commissioner, and his success is a shining testament to what hard work and resilience can truly accomplish.
From the very beginning, Anas proved that dreams don’t belong to a certain class—they belong to those who dare to chase them. His path was never easy. It was built on long nights of studying, countless sacrifices, limited resources, and an unshakeable commitment to bettering both himself and his community. Yet, despite every challenge, he never stopped moving forward.
✨ Why his story matters:
He is a symbol of hope for every middle-class student who feels the weight of circumstances.
He showed that consistency is more powerful than privilege.
He proved that true success is earned, not inherited.
He turned obstacles into stepping stones, pressure into purpose, and dreams into reality.
Anas rise to Assistant Commissioner is not just a personal victory—it’s a victory for every parent who works tirelessly to support their children, every student who studies with limited means, and every young dreamer who refuses to give up.
Today, we honor his grit, discipline, humility, and above all, his spirit. May he continue to serve with integrity and inspire many more to pursue their ambitions with courage.
🌟 Congratulations, Anas Hameed!
Your journey is a reminder that no dream is too big and no background too small. The world needs more officers like you—grounded, determined, and driven by purpose.

Dear Ravians, let’s talk about leadership, merit, and the future of politics in Pakistan. 🇵🇰

Recently, Zohran Mamdani, a young man 34 years old with no political family background, became the Mayor of New York City. He’s not even Muslim, yet his vision, integrity, and commitment to public service earned him the people’s trust. His rise proves that in some societies, ideas and hard work can triumph over legacy and lineage. 💪

But it raises a question for us — could something like this ever happen in Pakistan? 🤔

Can a young man or woman, with no elite family name, no political connections, and no inherited power, truly climb the ladder of leadership in Pakistan Or is our system still chained by dynastic politics and privilege?

If not, then perhaps it’s time for Government College University Lahore, an institution known for producing thinkers, reformers, and national leaders, to spark a serious discussion on this issue. 🔥

🎤 Should GCU host a grand debate on:
👉 “Can Merit Defeat Dynastic Politics in Pakistan?”
Let the Ravians — the voices of intellect, courage, and change — share their thoughts on whether our society can ever open doors for a self-made, visionary leader to emerge from the grassroots.
Because leadership isn’t inherited. It’s earned. 💡
We request all societies and clubs to organize at least one event on this topic.

May Allah bless the family with patience and strength. Rest in peace young Man.
