Neelum Jehlum Hydroelectric Power Project
A rock-fill embankment dam on the right abutment spanning over the fault in the river bed and a concrete dam structure on the left side of the fault. The rock-fill embankment and concrete sections will be isolated by a concrete gravity wall. The main purpose for the addition of rockfill embankment dam is to accommodate movement or settlement along the fault. The composite section dams are noted to perform well during seismic activity and thus the risk of a catastrophic failure would be significantly reduced for the diversion dam.
220,883m³ of Core (Clay), Fine Filter, Coarse Filter, D/S Drain, Rockfill, U/S Riprap & D/S Grouted Riprap required to complete the dam.

Chinese Firm Proposes a 60 Billion Rs Electric Bus Project for
Karachi might be getting electric buses soon. A Chinese company has presented a project to the Mayor of Karachi which consists of 2,000 electric buses at a cost of $600 million.
The project was presented on Sunday by a six-member Chinese delegation led by Thomas Wang to City Mayor Wasim Akhtar during a meeting at his office.
Reports say that Thomas Wang, who represented the Chinese company Eco-Bus, offered two buses which would be sent to Karachi as gifts from the company within 2 months.
These two buses would be tried out on the roads of the city. Local staffers, drivers, mechanics and other support staff will be trained to operate these buses.

Pakistan's second LNG terminal to start operations from Nov 20
Pakistan’s second Liquefied National Gas (LNG) terminal at Port Qasim has been completed and is expected to start operations from November 20.
The terminal will pump gas into the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) system during the last winter before the upcoming 2018 general elections.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is expected to inaugurate the new terminal situated along Karachi's coast.

13 Motorways network to be completed to 2,400 km in two years:NHA
For improving north-south connectivity, 13 motorway projects have been launched out of which three have been completed while work on the rest is in full swing,” the NHA chairman said, noting that total length of motorways will increased to 2,400 km once all the projects are completed, from 580 km in 2013.
NHA road infrastructure projects worth over Rs1400 Billion have been launched during the past four years in all parts of the country, most of which would be completed by next year
