Chota Mota Theatre is the joint venture of Mobeen Ejaz and Sarah Zahid who have introduced a theatrical program designed especially for children in Pakistan basing predominantly on children’s theatrical journeys that they specialize in. Alongside children, the company also seeks to involve young and adult enthusiasts as well as amateur and professional actors, all of who are looking to strengthen
their unexplored talents and acting skills through appropriate courses offered
Mobeen Ejaz lives and works in Lahore and has been practicing theatre since 2002. His theatrical practice began with his participation in several theatre workshops as well as acting in private theatrical productions. This grew into a seething, unstoppable passion for performing on stage that continued well into his college years as a student at the prestigious National College of Arts, Lahore where he other than lurking around, directed and acted in innumerable plays while acquiring his bachelor’s degree as a Graphic Designer in 2008. After hopping up and about the corporate world for a year he gladly found LGS, JT or LGS, JT rather gladly found him. He has since then been teaching Drama from Grade 1-8 at LGS Junior and Middle Section for Boys, JT and directed over 16 Junior and Middle School Plays for them. His theatrical genius lies in experimenting with different forms of theatre while he has an innate knack for absurd theatre. Sarah Zahid, lives, works and overworks in Lahore. In 2008 after having attained her Fine Arts degree from the National College of Arts, Lahore, she worked as a Copy Writer for Wikkid Plus- Pakistan’s first (now Resting.I.P) children’s channel, an Art Historian at the PIFD and landed a project to direct the LGS Junior Girls, JT’s first Annual Play. Little did anyone know that she would grow so fond of teaching theatre to children that she would embrace this as the only career choice she would eventually want to be in. Since 2009, therefore, she has been teaching Drama to Grade 3-8 and directed 8 Junior and Middle School plays for the Lahore Grammar School, Junior and Middle Section for Girls, JT. Over a year now she has also been engaged in an in depth self-study of Child psychology and pedagogy. Her forte in theatre is site specific, musical and chamber theatre.
