This is literally one of the most random paintings I have ever made in my life.

This was a three week assignment in my painting block. It started off with us making our own canvases which btw was so much fun!? Anyway the first part was making random stuff with clay and painting that as a composition of our choice (4th picture) The next week we had to add stuff from a still life (3rd picture) Behenji forgot to take a picture after painting the cushion oops. Lastly, we had to add a pastry or cake of some sort and for the first time in my life I was actually done with my painting two days before submission, so after I made the cupcake I had plenty of time so I decided to make the donut too, which I had so much fun making, I wanted to eat it. For some final touches I put white paint with a palette knife to give it some texture. If you zoom in, you will see it. Anyway, point being, this was fun now please somebody buy this from me cuz girl wants to spoil herself a little 👉🏼👈🏼

I made this painting a little more than two years ago for this beautiful human I call my best friend, when she was leaving for Malaysia for her graduation. I don't remember how long it took me to make this but I do remember that it was made with lots and lots of love, care and joy. It is 23rd of October today and many many years ago this world was blessed with little baby Mahnoor. I am posting this to celebrate her existence in this world but mostly in my life. I've known her for the past six years and hands down she's been one of strongest pillars for me. I met her in O'Levels and trust me when I say I wouldn't have been able to get through it if it wasn't for her sitting right next to me in every single class talking about the craziest s**t and laughing at the most random things ever. I wish I could list down all moments I could get through only and only because of her but not even a hundred posts would be able to cover that up. There's a lot I want to put here but right now I can't and so I'll try to shorten it up.

Mahnoor I love you so very very much. I appreciate you and all that you have and still for me, all the time. We may not talk for days or meet for months but know that you are a big big part of my life and you are very important to me.

Almost 5 weeks ago, I started doing this one thing that has made me come across many realisations, but most importantly that if I am willing to do something, I can. At the beginning of this journey, I would've never thought I'd make it so far. It felt impossible and I was so sure I wouldn't make it past two weeks but I did. Time passed but I still don't know how and even now there's a few more months to go and it feels impossible but somewhere I know I'll make it through them too. I thought of it, I set my mind and I pulled through. If you are going through something or you think you can't make it, trust me you will but at the same time you won't believe it till you experience it yourself and ahh the beauty of having to go through something painful and then making it to the other side is indescribable.

So this post is basically a reminder for me that I will get through anything that comes at me no matter how insane it is. This isn't my best work but I enjoyed making it and loved the end product, very similarly to the past few weeks. They weren't the best but now that I am here, it makes me feel proud of myself.

Hello! This is me Alishba. Those of you who don't know (most of you) I am an artist, currently doing Bachelors in Fine Arts at NCA, Lahore. By artist I mean not only a very typical drawing, painting shainting creative person but somebody who can skilfully execute the art of procrastination and will take ages to post something so don't expect too much and if you do that's on you. On a side note I am actually planning on posting more so you might not have to wait that long hopefully.
