NASA plans to begin building humanity’s first long-term lunar outpost near the Moon’s South Pole by the end of 2026.
The ambitious $20 billion project will use advanced rovers, drones, solar and nuclear power systems, and could support early human habitation between 2029 and 2032. The mission aims to unlock the secrets of living on the Moon and pave the way for future journeys to Mars.
