A major food safety crackdown in Lahore has led to the seizure of more than 2,000 kilograms of expired Wall’s ice cream from a cold storage facility. According to the Punjab Food Authority, the cold store was sealed and a heavy fine was imposed after the expired stock was discovered during an inspection. Officials emphasized that frozen products still require proper expiry and storage checks, even when stored at sub-zero temperatures. The action has raised concerns over food safety, expiry monitoring and consumer protection.
