Renowned television director Farooq Rind & our wonderful audience had a great time watching English Only, a comedy play presented by SOVAPA Alumni at Studio Upstairs, Arts Council Karachi.

The play will run until 17 August at 8:00 PM at Studio Upstairs, Arts Council Karachi.

Set inside a lively TOEFL classroom, English Only brings together students from different backgrounds as they navigate the challenges of learning a new language, building confidence, and finding their voice. Through hilarious misunderstandings, heartfelt moments, and engaging performances, the play celebrates friendship, communication, and the courage to embrace one’s individuality.

The Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi continues to strengthen its global engagement through international cultural exchange and collaboration. As part of this initiative, Ahsan Bari, Director of Special Programs & Head of the Music Department, has departed for Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Ubumuntu Arts Festival 2026.

The visit focuses on fostering international partnerships, cultural exchange, and collaborative opportunities, further strengthening ACP's global network and commitment to promoting Pakistani arts on the world stage.

Witness theatre performance "Naql-e-Makani", a play by Rajinder Singh Bedi & Directed by Farhan Ahsan in the series of plays being presented by SOVAPA Alumni at the Studio Upstairs housed at Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.

Synopsis: Naql-e-Makani by Rajinder Singh Bedi is about a normal middle-class family in 1945 Delhi who finally find a home, but after finding clues that a woman of ill-repute once lived there, calling a panwari who confirms it, and facing further fear when a drunk man appears, they are so disturbed by society’s judgment and constant rumors that they choose to leave the house, showing that honor mattered more than shelter for polite people.

Naql-e-Makani is about how society’s negative judgment can make decent people feel unsafe and unwelcome in a home they finally earned.
