i was following this discussion on twitter which said that game of thrones (the show) ended up disappointing so much, that people don’t see any point in rewatching it. and it’s basically in a rewatch or rediscovery of a material that ensures that something lives on forever. A crude example could be of FRIENDS maybe, that people watch even to this day.

I kinda agree, but then you also catch yourself sometimes wanting to know what else could have been and in one of those moments I picked up the book. Suddenly i just find hope returning - there’s no denying that the writing is gripping. Will GRRM write the last book and salvage the “legacy” of Game of Thrones? idk... i hope... but with the full realisation that while I also hoped for Ned Stark to live on after the first season, he died.
