Depression
Depression is a mental health condition that affects how a person feels, thinks, and behaves over a longer period of time. It’s more than just feeling sad for a day or two.
People with depression may experience:
Persistent sadness or emptiness
Loss of interest in things they used to enjoy
Low energy or fatigue
Changes in sleep (too much or too little)
Difficulty concentrating
Feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness
A common form is Major Depressive Disorder, which can interfere with daily life, work, and relationships.
Depression can be caused by a mix of factors like stress, life events, brain chemistry, or genetics. The good news is that it’s treatable through therapy, lifestyle changes, and sometimes medication.
