On 2 Muharram 61 AH (680 CE), Imam Hussain ibn Ali, along with his family and loyal followers, arrived at the plain of Karbala. Leaving Mecca and traveling through the desert, the caravan spent a long time in this barren land near the Euphrates River. Imam Hussain (a.s.) was called by the people of Kufa to guide him. Upon reaching Karbala, Imam Hussain said that this was the place of his martyrdom. For this, the master ordered that he order the tents of Hussain. This event began, which will be seen on 10 Muharram (Ashura) with Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his companions, a symbol of sacrifice, justice and resistance against injustice for people all over the world.
