Gogi Studios Gogi Studios is an art studio, which gives innovative visual approaches to projects. She initiated comic strips for the press. It became a household name.

Gogi Studios has worked on various campaigns using different mediums to raise awareness on issue of children rights, environment and sexual harassment. Gogi studios was started in a modest manner by Nigar Nazar in the seventies. It was the first ever comic strip in the Pakistani setting. The comic strips featured Pakistani culture and problems in a humorous way. With decades of cartoons featuring

the central character of Gogi, the comics gained popularity among women who related to this female character. People are receptive to message advocated by Gogi and this is used to launch many social advocacy campaigns. Gogi studios has successfully completed many commissioned projects dedicated to the issues of human rights. Nigar Nazar is the first woman cartoonist of Pakistan and of the Muslim world .Her character, Gogi has not only appeared in different newspapers and magazines but four children’s hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been decorated with Gogi cartoons and health messages. Nigar has also authored and illustrated 27 books for children. . She was nominated by BBC for “100 Global women who have made a difference in 2014” NHK ,largest TV channel of Japan has produced a 28 minute documentary which was aired on February 19 and 20,2015.Recently the President of Pakistan launched her book on Corruption.

Madam Nigar Nazar, Founder and CEO of and Pakistan’s first female cartoonist, was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of her outstanding contributions.

Mr. Changez, a producer of the BBC, expressed his meeting with Ma'am Nigar in the following words:

"Project Leader Shaukat Ali and I had the privilege of meeting Madam Nigar Nazar, who generously donated two banners and books to DTF for use in Dagar Schools. Shaukat briefed her on DTF’s projects and its educational and awareness initiatives. She was inspired by the work we have accomplished and expressed her desire to visit Dagar. She also assured us of her continued support for our efforts."

Mr. Changez, a producer from BBC, who had at one time interviewed Nigar Nazar for a show, came over to the studio.
He had talked about opening two schools in Kashmir to promote education among girls and boys. To encourage this good act on behalf of Gogi Studios, a hundred Gogi books were gifted for the children along with two colorful wall hangings for the school wall.

In 2023, the oldest University in Europe, Alcala, invited me to have an exhibition of my work at the Department of Humor. I spent four days at the scholar's residence and had a schedule of giving lectures and presenting my work to students right from primary school to university level. As the exhibition was inaugurated, the next day onwards, I was on the rounds to visit various institutions to meet up with students for interactive sessions based on my presentation and live drawing. As I was coming up through the corridors and the staircase, they had cartoons of me and Gogi together on their notice boards. At the University Alcala, the students sat watching this Pakistani cartoonist show her comic strips and animations. Later, they had many questions, but at the end of the session two students came up and handed me their versions of Gogi. This was fascinating for me– that as they watched my presentation, they were creating a Spanish Gogi! 🇪🇸🇵🇰🌟
