Khalid Tiwana sent us this lovely portrait of his mother, Helga Tiwana, painted in 1974 at the Golf Club Bhurban.

My Parents, Mr & Mrs Nadir Tiwana spent a summer at the Bhurban Golf hotel in about 1973-74 and this is where they met Mr & Mrs Petman. Hal painted my mother’s portrait during that time and also taught her the finer aspects of the English language. Hal’s wife chose the outfit of the portrait for my mother.

Asta Norregaard was a Norwegian 'society painter' society painter at the turn of the 20th century. Initially dismissed as decorative and frivolous, her art is now on display at the Oslo National Museum. Sometimes it takes a while for a particular style to be recognised and appreciated!
