تری تخلیق نے بدلے ہیں یہ عنواں کیسے
تن انساں میں اچھلنے لگے حیواں کیسے

تو نے تو اعلیٰ و اشرف کا شرف بخشا تھا
گر کے پاتال تک آئے ترے انساں کیسے

اپنے ہاتھوں سے جہاں تو نے کیا ہے آباد
اپنے ہاتھوں سے کرے گا اسے ویراں کیسے

کتنے وحشی نکل آئے ہیں سر عام عدیمؔ
کھل گیا فطرت آدم کا یہ زنداں کیسے

زندگی موت سے بد تر ہوئی جاتی ہے عدیمؔ
پھر بھی حیرت ہے کہ جینے کے ہیں ارماں کیسے
