Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the leader of the Ismaili community, has said the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) will continue to support the Gilgit-Baltistan government and local communities to recover from recent damages and build resilience to face future challenges.

In a letter presented to the GB chief minister by the Gilgit Shia Imami Ismaili Council president, the Aga Khan extended “heartfelt sympathy for the devastating losses suffered by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan as a result of the recent flash floods and related disasters”.

“I am in close contact with our Council and the agencies of the AKDN in Pakistan, and I continue to monitor the situation as more such events are witnessed each day,” the letter said, adding that he was particularly sad to hear about the deaths of the volunteers who were working to restore the water-supply infrastructure near Gilgit.

گلگت بلتستان میں سیلاب متاثرین کیلئے آغا خان ڈیولپمنٹ نیٹ ورک کی مدد کا اعلان۔

گلگت بلتستان کے سیلاب متاثرہ علاقوں کی بحالی کیلئے آغا خان ڈیولپمنٹ نیٹ ورک (AKDN) نے معاونت فراہم کرنے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔

یہ اعلان وزیر اعلیٰ گلگت بلتستان حاجی گلبر خان کی اسلام آباد میں AKDN قیادت سے ملاقات کے بعد کیا گیا، جس میں اسماعیلی کونسل برائے پاکستان کے صدر نزیر میواوالا، سرینا ہوٹلز کے سی ای او عزیز بولانی اور آغا خان فاؤنڈیشن پاکستان کے سی ای او اختر اقبال بھی شریک تھے۔ وزیر اعلیٰ نے اس سے قبل ہز ہائنس آغا خان کو خط لکھ کر حالیہ سیلاب سے ہونے والی تباہ کاریوں کے بعد تعاون کی درخواست کی تھی۔

معاونت میں سات اسکولوں کی بحالی، صحت کے مراکز کی مرمت اور سولر سسٹم کی تنصیب، پانی کے نظام کی بحالی، حفاظتی انفراسٹرکچر کی تعمیر نو اور آٹھ کمیونٹی ایمرجنسی رسپانس ٹیموں کا قیام شامل ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ پورٹ ایبل میڈیکل آلات، موبائل ہیلتھ یونٹس اور 3 ہزار غذائی قلت کے شکار بچوں اور خواتین کیلئے طبی سہولیات فراہم کی
