Pakistan just took a major step toward the future of connectivity. The country officially launched its 5G spectrum auction, raising $507 million and selling 480 MHz of spectrum to telecom operators. It marks a historic milestone in Pakistan’s digital transformation.
The first 5G services are expected to launch in Islamabad and provincial capitals including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. Operators plan to add around 3,000 new network sites every year to expand coverage across the country. While businesses may benefit first, the move aims to bring faster internet and stronger digital infrastructure to millions of users.
