A fake news doing rounds about a book fair in Lahore, mentioning that only 35 books were sold whereas food items sold were numbered in hundreds.
You know what's the painful part? It's not being circulated by some outsider to humiliate us; it's not someone from neighboring country mocking us via spreading a lie; almost all of these pages are run by our fellow Pakistanis.
Just step back and think about it. What kind of self-narcissistic behavior we have built. Why we feel glad to mock our own people, even if it's done through fake news. Why we enjoy degrading ourselves. Why we cherish our failures so much that even if someone fakes it, we r ready to circulate it.
Sorry for harsh example, but if someone shares a fake news about your sister being a pr******te, would you enjoy it? If someone spread false rumor that your father takes bribes, will you share it around? Would you cherish if someone make false accusations about your mother? I am very sure that most of you will do exactly the opposite.
So why my brothers and sisters, why you enjoy, cherish, celebrate and propagate even false news that's maligning you as a society?
