Tenpin bowling is an indoor sport played all around the world on a professional, amateur and social basis. Players propel or roll a bal

l by hand down a wooden lane in an attempt to knock down a target - 10 pins arranged in a triangular pattern. Players score points according to the number of pins they knock down. Tenpin bowling requires a high level of hand-eye co-ordination and skill that is comparable to other technical sports, such as golf or snooker. Bowling is a popular participation sport, with recreational bowling alleys commonly found in cities or towns worldwide. Even amateur bowlers have felt the thrill of scoring a "strike" knocking all 10 pins down with one ball. At the top level, however, competitors aim to achieve this time and time again. Tenpin Bowling Rules
A game of tenpin bowling consists of 10 frames, in which each bowler is given two chances to knock down the pins. If the bowler scores a "strike" by knocking them all down on the first ball, the frame is over. If one or more are left standing, then the player has a second ball to try to knock the rest down before moving onto the next frame. If the player knocks the remaining pins down with the second ball, this is called a "spare". To score the game, one point is awarded for every pin knocked down, with a bonus system for strikes and spares. For a strike, the player scores double on his next two balls. For a spare, the player scores double on his next ball only. These bonuses are added to the score for the initial frame. For example, the most that can be scored for a single frame is 30 (10 for the initial strike and 10 bonus points each for the next two successive strikes.) Successive combinations of strikes and spares can make scoring complicated, so most alleys have a computerized scoring system. If a player achieves a strike in the 10th frame, he is awarded two extra balls to earn his bonus point, while a 10th frame spare earns a single extra ball. It is not quite very old that tenpin bowling was introduced in Pakistan. Soon after the sport gained popularity among the masses, more and more centers came up where serious minded players got a chance to improve their skill with regular practice. Hence a need of a proper regulatory body was felt which could not only promote this sport in the country but could also provide the chance for Pakistani bowlers to represent the country on national and international level. PTBF is aimed to establish a close relationship with Bowling Associations of other countries thus enabling players to earn chances to play Internationally. Asian Bowling Federation has responded favorably and taking keen interest in our work for promotion of bowling in Pakistan. Efforts are in are in hands to get PTBF affiliated with relevant International Forums that will not only give boost the promotion of Bowling sport but also generate opportunities to polish skills of leading players of Pakistan. Affiliation of PTBF with International Association (WTBA) has played a vital role in enhancing the interest amongst the players and playing its dividend to promote Bowling in Pakistan.

"Successful Conduct of Transparent Elections Welcomed; Tenpin Bowling Club to Be Established at PSB," Newly Elected President Ijaz-ur-Rehman

Lahore – The newly elected President of the Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijaz-ur-Rehman, appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for conducting transparent, fair, and impartial elections. Speaking to the media after receiving the notification of election results at the PSB Coaching Centre Lahore on Friday, he said the elections were a commendable initiative that concluded smoothly. He announced that a Tenpin Bowling Club will be established within PSB.

He added that Pakistani youth have the potential to make the country proud at the international level in tenpin bowling, and more than 100 players are currently ready for global competitions. Accompanying him were Secretary General of the Federation Lt. Col . (R) Kamran Khalid, Janjua, Muhammad Hussain Chattha, and Joint Secretary Mehmood-ur-Rehman.

President Ijaz-ur-Rehman further said that, for the first time, the PSB initiated the election process of the federation, and they are thankful to DG PSB Yasir Peerzada and the members of the election commission for conducting excellent elections. He expressed hope that the PSB will continue to play its role in strengthening and activating the federation in the future.

He also thanked the media, saying the PSB has provided them with a good platform. He mentioned that quality coaches will be hired for tenpin bowling and that a club will also be formed within PSB to train players more effectively. "Our children have the potential to win medals at the international level and bring glory to Pakistan," he added.

He stated that the four-year term of the new office-bearers begins today, and over 100 players are currently affiliated with the federation. He emphasized promoting sports tourism, noting that tenpin bowling is played in 157 countries. He also announced that two of Pakistan’s under-20 players will participate in the Qatar Annual Championship, and from August 8 to August 14, a tenpin bowling tournament will be organized at the Islamabad Sports Complex.

The ITBA Inter University League Ten Pin Bowling Tournament wins by the media team by defeating Econonics team by 115 score. Economic team and Media Teams played final. The tournament was played at Legend City Bowling Club Safa Gold Mall F-7 Islamabad, led by President Pakistan Bowling Federation Ijaz -ur -Rehman, in which various players including Subtain, Zain ul Abdin Zakriya Daud, Maryam Tariq. Danyal ur Rahman Awais Ali, Mustafa Alvi Huzaifa Yasir Saad -ur -Rehman and Junaid Shafiq participated.
Economics players scored 560 in response to which the Media team scored 675. The media team won the tournament with a margin of 115 scores.
Mr. Syafik Firdous Bin Hisbullah Charge de Affaires High Commission of Malaysia was the Chief Guest of Prize Distribution ceremony, he congratulated to the organizers as well as players and said that Pakistan has a great talent for the ten pin bowling game and the youth of Pakistan are performing great performance in the game.
