The Punjab Council of the Arts Rawalpindi, in collaboration with the Information and Culture Department Government of the Punjab and Off-grid Studio, cordially invites you to an Artist Talk featuring Dr. Muhammad Qamar Iqbal, Dr. Muzafar Kashmiri, and Zarar Haider Babary.
The discussion, titled “Creative Expressions in Islam: Reflections from the Thought of Muhammad Iqbal”, will explore artistic and intellectual perspectives inspired by Iqbal’s philosophy.

The session will be moderated by Geytee Ara and will take place at the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi on 3rd March, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

OffGrid invites artists, designers, multimedia artists, writers, performers, and filmmakers to apply for a 2-week site-based residency titled “ Rejection “
Residency Duration: 26th April - 10th May 2026
Application Deadline:
20th February 2026
Residency Benefits:
• Studio Space: Dedicated studio space at foothills of murree.
• Exhibition Opportunity: Final artworks will be displayed.
• Networking: Opportunities to connect with fellow artists, curators, library staff, and the wider community.
• Certification: All participants will receive official certificates from OffGrid studios.
Application Requirements:
• Artist Statement: A brief overview of your artistic practice.
• Portfolio: Digital portfolio of recent work.
• Residency Proposal: Concept note outlining your project idea for this residency.
• Resume/CV
• Accessibility Commitment: Artists must be available to work on-site during the residency. Community engagement (talks, workshops, storytelling, etc.) is highly encouraged.
• Minimum Output: Artists are required to complete at least 10 original works during the residency for the final exhibition.
Sponsorships:
Artists are encouraged to seek sponsorships for their projects. All sponsors will be acknowledged by OffGrid Studios.
Registration Fee: PKR 30,000
What it includes:
Access to all workshops, mentorship sessions, and curated activities.
What it does not include:
Transportation to the venue.
Selection Process:
A jury panel will review all applications and select participants based on alignment with the residency’s theme and goals.

The OffGrid team conducted a dynamic art workshop for STEAM education, led by Geytee Ara, aka STEAM Safeer. The session focused on harnessing imagination and observation through art, empowering participants with creative skills. Huma Shuja and Esha Fatima contributed to the impactful team effort.

Our Esteemed Panelist’s: Akhter Iqbal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and has nearly ten years of teaching experience, with around half of that at the school level. He teaches art to students from primary grades through O Levels, with a focus on drawing, painting, and sculpture.
Over the years, he has conducted art workshops and developed curriculum and lesson plans for various age groups. He also mentors and prepares students applying to art colleges and universities in Pakistan and abroad.
He is currently working in the art department of Khaldunia High School, Islamabad, teaching a wide range of classes and skill levels.

Our Esteemed Panelist’s : Jazib Jacob, an accomplished artist and educator, graduated with distinction in painting from the National College of Arts. Renowned for his distinctive artistic style, Jazib has showcased his work in exhibitions across major cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Dubai, and Baku. Having taught painting and drawing at the National College of Arts, he now serves as an IB Visual Arts facilitator at Beaconhouse Newlands in Islamabad. Jazib’s dedication to both his craft and the development of aspiring artists underscores his influential role in the contemporary art scene and the academic sphere.
