We are very delighted to inform you that Direk Rose received a commendation from the Oficina del Consejo Local City of Zamboanga last April 29, 2026, at the Sangguniang Panglungsod during the 17th Regular Session.

Resolution No. 590 is a resolution extending the highest commendation and expressing this august body's profound praise and congratulations to Rosalie Escala-Sharif for her exemplary achievement as a writer and director recognized globally at the Amader International Short Film Festival (AISFF) held in Kolkota, West Bengal, India on February 25, 2026.

On March 23, 2026, Ma'am Rosalie Escala-Sharif, served as one of the judges in the SK Kasanyangan Dayang Dayang held at Barangay Kasanyangan.

More so, the organizer of the said event is a UTG alumnus and SK Lumbangan Chairman, Loyd Angelo Santos.

Hola, artists!

Here are some of the photos during practices, rehearsals, and workshops of the DSWD Home for the Elderly employees who are actors of the short play "Takipsilim," written and directed by Direk Rose.

Direk Rose conducted a series of theater workshops that focused on facial expressions, emotions, focus, and connection.

Aside from that, a former member of the UTG-Alumni, Laurence Jay Camasura, helped in arranging the songs in the short play.

The WMSU Theatre Guild—Alumni joins in the celebration of World Theatre Day 2026. We are sharing some photos of the short play "Takipsilim," which was performed during the Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCF) Conference 2026, one of the highlights of which is the Short and Sweet Play Competition on March 23, 2026, held at Palacio del Sur.

The short play written and directed by Ma'am Rosalie Escala was inspired by the life story of a former client of the Home for the Elderly, Lola Eusebia.

The short play won several awards: 1st runner-up, Best Actress, Best Story, and Best Lights Design.

More so, a former UTG member, LJ Em Cee, was the one who had arranged the songs in the short play "Takipsilim." Ma'am Rose also conducted several theater workshops for the actors to have a background of performing on stage. She also focuses on training on facial expressions, characterization, focus, movements, voice, etc.

With that, we are delighted to inform you that our entry short film "METAMORPHOSIS" ,was included in the finalists of the Amader International Short Film Festival 2026 out of 15,678 submitted entries around the globe. The writer-director of this short film is Direk Rosalie Escala-Sharif.

More so, "METAMORPHOSIS" got the following awards last February 25, 2026 Awarding Ceremony.
