𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟐𝟑𝒓𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

“Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?”

On this Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are reminded that there will be moments when the storms in life become so overwhelming that we begin to wonder if God is truly with us. The disciples were afraid when the waves began to overwhelm the boat, especially when it seemed that Jesus was asleep and unaware of what was happening. Like them, we can also become anxious when problems pile up and we feel like we are losing control. Yet, Jesus reminds us to have faith. His silence does not mean His absence. Even in the middle of the storm, He is there.

There will be moments when the “waves” of life feel too strong, but we do not have to face them alone. May we learn to bring our fears and worries to God, trust in His presence, and remember that He can bring calm even to the storms within us. 🙏🏼🌊

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟐𝟐𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

"Take up your cross and follow me."

On this Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel reminds us that following Christ is not always the easiest path. Jesus calls us to take up our crosses and follow Him, even when it means facing struggles, sacrifices, or things that are difficult to accept. Carrying a cross does not mean that suffering has no purpose. It means choosing to remain faithful to God even when the journey becomes hard.

Peter allowed his pre-conception of the Messiah to prevent him from really knowing the Lord. But not only Peter. We, too, sometimes want to see the Lord according to our perspective. We want God to act according to our desires. We question him when things happen that do not match our wishes or when prayers go unanswered. Let us be humble enough to admit that “God’s ways are not our ways.”

Even with the bad weather, Angeljustin, Elisse, and Kuya Alex still made time to be present and serve through their voices during today’s Mass. Their willingness to serve is a simple reminder that service often asks for a little sacrifice. Sometimes, taking up the cross looks like simply showing up, giving what we can, and choosing to serve even when it would be easier not to.

As the rainy weather continues, let us also remember everyone in our prayers, especially those affected by heavy rains, flooding, and other difficulties brought by the weather. May God keep everyone safe, provide strength to those in need, and guide those who are helping others during these difficult times. 🙏🏼🌧️

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

"You are Peter and on this Rock I will build my Church and never will the powers of death overcome it."

On this Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are reminded that the Church is not built by one person alone. Christ entrusted a special role to Peter, but every member of the Church is also called to take part in building it up.

We belong to this Church of Christ, and together with Peter, we help build it up. Since Peter is the rock, we are like the other stones and pebbles. As such, let us allow the Lord, the Master Builder, to work with us and through us. We must remember that no matter how small a stone we are, the Lord can still use us to create something beautiful. ✨

May we continue to serve, share our gifts, and remain faithful, knowing that even the simplest offering can have a place in God’s work. 🙏🏼⛪️

Some people make their presence felt through big moments, while others do it through the little things they consistently give. VMC is truly grateful for the commitment, time, and heart you have for the group. Every effort and time spent with the choir adds something meaningful to the journey.

May this new chapter of yours be filled with warmth, joy, and a little sweetness along the way. May the Lord continue to guide your path ahead, giving strength when the days feel heavy, and joy in the moments that matter. We pray that your heart for serving remain genuine and full of love, and that you continue to do your best in everything you do, especially in school. Keep the dreams you are chasing.

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟐𝟎𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

Jesus said, "Woman, how great is your faith! Let it be as you wish."

On this Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel invites us to reflect on a faith that remains strong even when faced with silence, rejection, and uncertainty. The woman continued to approach Jesus because she believed that He could help her. Her faith was not shaken by the difficulties she encountered. Instead, she remained humble and persistent in seeking His mercy.

There are also times when prayers seem unanswered and situations do not go according to what we hope for. In those moments, may we learn to remain patient and continue trusting God. Faith means believing in His goodness even when the answer is not yet clear, knowing that His plans are always greater than what we can see.

In this story, Jesus also tells us that there is no discrimination in God's eyes. Even those we consider outside our group are loved by God. He loves every person and offers His salvation to everyone. May we have the same courage to keep praying, the patience to keep waiting, and the faith to keep trusting God. 🙏🏼❤️‍🩹

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟏𝟗𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

Jesus said to them, "Courage! Don't be afraid. It's me!"

On this Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel shows us that fear can come from not understanding what is happening around us. When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water, they were frightened because they did not recognize Him and thought they were seeing a ghost. Jesus reassured them by making His presence known and telling them not to be afraid. In our own lives, there may be moments when fear comes from uncertainty or from things we do not understand. Like the disciples, may we learn to recognize God's presence even in difficult situations and trust that He is with us. 🌊

This same trust was reflected in the service of Kuya Alex, Harlene, and Rain, who still came despite the inclement weather to offer their voices during today's Mass. Their willingness to serve reminds us that following God sometimes means stepping forward despite difficulties and offering what we can with a faithful heart. May their example encourage us to trust God more deeply and stay committed to service even when it is not easy. 🙏🏼

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟏𝟖𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

"We have nothing here but five loaves and two fishes."

On this Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel tells us that what we have may sometimes feel too little, but God can do so much with what we are willing to offer. The disciples only had five loaves and two fishes, yet Jesus used them to feed thousands. In our own lives, we may think that our time, talents, or efforts are not enough, but God can use even the smallest things when they are given with a willing heart.

It is easy to pray and ask the Lord to act when we are faced with our own needs or the needs of others. However, Jesus also invites us to take part and do what we can. He asks us to offer our own “five loaves and two fishes,” trusting that He can use them to bless others. 🍞🐟

May we learn to trust God, share what we have, and let Him do the rest. 🙏🏼

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

On this First Saturday Devotion in honor of Our Lady of Fatima, we once again gather in prayer and turn our hearts to Mary, whose life continues to point us toward Jesus.

Faith is not always easy, especially when we are faced with challenges, fear, or uncertainty. Mary's life teaches us to trust God even when His plans are not always clear to us. Her simple and faithful “yes” reminds us to remain devoted, trust in God's will, and have the courage to follow Him in any state of our lives. Let us always bring our prayers to God through Mary, trusting that He will grant what is truly good for us and according to His will. 🙏🏼

May Our Lady of Fatima continue to accompany us in our journey of faith and lead us closer to Christ through prayer, repentance, and conversion.

"The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field."

On this Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, today's Gospel reminds us that nothing in this world is more valuable than God. Being a faithful follower of Christ is not just one of the many good things in life. Rather, it is the greatest treasure we can ever have and the one thing that should shape the way we live and the choices we make. Everything else in this world will eventually pass away, but a life rooted in God will always remain. May this Gospel remind us to always put God first, for He alone is the true treasure worth seeking. 🪎

𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟏𝟔𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.”

On this Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, today's Gospel teaches us that God's work often begins in ways that seem small and unnoticed. Like a mustard seed, even the simplest act of faith, kindness, or service can grow into something far greater when placed in His hands. We are encouraged to practice patience and trust in God's perfect timing, knowing that growth takes time. We are also called to be discerning, nurturing what is good while standing firm against evil. As we faithfully live out the Gospel and encourage others to turn back to God, we can trust that His justice will prevail in the end. Until then, may we persevere in faith and continue sowing seeds of goodness wherever we are. 🙏🏼 🌱
