𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧: There are no membership registrations every Thursday and Friday. Registration resumes on Monday, June 27, 2026.

All BSED-English students are deemed automatic members of the English Club, hence the need to register. The Club is open to students from the other programs.

𝗕𝗘 𝗔 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥! The English Club opens its membership registration starting on Monday, June 15, 2026.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿:
1. Visit the registration booth beside the FMD office and fill out a membership form.
2. Submit the completed form and pay the membership fee of P50 at Room 2-16.
3. Wait for the certificate to be printed and claim it immediately upon release.

Would you like to be a part of the TSK team? The English Club is looking for volunteers who can commit to the responsibilities of and dedicate their time to the production team of the Cebuano play, Tingog sa Kagahapon, slated for restaging on August 3, 4, and 5.

We are looking for volunteers who can fill the following posts:

𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗣 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳. The English Club welcomes the new academic year with three performances.

𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗴 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻, a restaging of the deeply emotional narrative about an aging mother whose memory loss forces her estranged children to reunite, setting the stage for a confrontation with unresolved conflicts and painful family history. It is scheduled for August 3, 4, and 5, at the UVTCC Lower Campus Rooftop.

𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗵𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗺 𝟯, the third installment of the English Club's songwriting competition. Slated for September, student-produced compositions will be showcased in a night of literature and live music.

𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, a new musical in Bislish that chronicles the lives of two people whose growing love is challenged by distance and realities of life's changing circumstances.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗡. The officers of the English Club held their first meeting on Monday, June 1, in preparation of the org’s activities for the upcoming semesters of AY 2026-2027.

Three major activities — a songwriting competition, a straight play, and a new Bislish musical — are expected to be performed this new academic year.

The Club will open memberships for the production teams for these activities. Stay tuned!

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗟𝗘. The Campus Journalism (CJ) class of BSED-English 3 released the annual issue of The Oracle earlier today, May 19.

As part of the CJ course, the class covered events both on and off campus and produced news, feature, and opinion articles highlighting these developments.

The 𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕 congratulates its members and BSED-English majors Allyna Janela Awitin and Karen Jaranilla for having achieved the advanced level, C1, in the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) Speaking, a standardized proficiency test administered on April 30 for all Effective Communication students of the University.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦! The University of the Visayas Toledo City Campus congratulates the following students for having achieved the C1 CEFR level in the April 2026 Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) Speaking.

The English level C1 is the fifth and "advanced" level of English in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), a definition of different language levels written by the Council of Europe. It indicates a proficient, highly autonomous language user.

The students took on April 30 the TOIEC, a standardized English proficiency exam specifically designed for non-native speakers, as their final examination in GE EFCOM 2 or Effective Communication: Speaking and Writing course of the University.
