Soft, gentle eyes and tousled hair,
A quiet warmth within her gaze,
She holds her teddy close with care,
To light the dimmest of my days.

With little hearts that float around,
And courage drawn in shade and line,
In Rose's sweet grace I found
A precious art I wish was mine.

I watched you like a distant star,
So bright, so warm, yet far too far.
You wore the light I wished to hold,
A story I was never told.

I learned the rhythm of your smile,
And walked beside you for a while,
Content to share the common air,
And pretend my heart was never there.

We touched the edges of a spark,
Then turned and faded in the dark.
You were the dream I almost knew—
My favorite song I never drew.

I kept the flowers that you gave,
Beneath the silence of a grave—
Tucked deep within a quiet bed
Of a thousand I love yous I never said.

The petals faded, dry and frail,
Holding a quiet, secret tale
Of every truth I couldn't speak,
And courage that I grew too weak to find.

The skin may mend its broken seam,
To hide the fractures of a dream.
Yet etched beneath the bone and skull,
The shadow’s edge remains un-dull.

Time paints a veil, a soft deceit,
To make the jagged edges meet—
But deep where quiet memory kneels,
The truest scar never quite heals.
